****UPDATE**** I’ve had these for about 6 months now and I stand by my original review. If anything I’ve noticed only a slight fading of the color (mainly just a slight loss of vibrancy). They have been outside in the elements and structurally they’re as solid as when I bought them. So go ahead and pull the trigger; you won’t be disappointed. Let me start out by saying I did a good amount of research before pulling the trigger on these chairs. I’ve purchased both real wood and wood blend outdoor furniture, and both have their pros and cons. I eventually chose these chairs because how highly most reviews spoke of the customer service experience. I can speak directly to that as well: I received an email shortly after placing my order. The company sent me (unsolicitedly, mind you) a set of updated instructions because they received complaints that the ones that come with chairs weren’t clear enough (in reality they were fine). But the company took that feedback to heart and acted on it! Unheard of nowadays!! So that automatically endeared me to them. Now for the product itself; they’re very well constructed or a Trex decking like composite material, which seems pretty durable. They were super easy to put together (after the second chair it only took 5-10 min to assemble each of the others), and though I’m skeptical about the 400# rating, the chair barely creaks when I sit in it (and I’m a big guy). It’s extremely comfortable, though if you have shorter legs you may consider having/using a pillow behind you for support to easily get out of the chair as it’s pretty low to the ground. They’re beautifully textured and look like real wood from a distance. They are very well packaged to prevent shipping damage. As a bonus, the tools included in the kit are actually pretty darn good quality, unlike most of the other RTA furniture kits from China. Trust me…you’re gonna want to keep these! Everything about these to me scream quality. I’ve only had them a week but I’m extremely happy with them and optimistic about their survival in the Texas elements. The hope is they won’t fade in the brutal summer sun (fingers crossed). I will update this post in a few months and let you know how I feel about them. But for now, if you’re on the fence about pulling the trigger, climb on down and place your order. I’m pretty sure you won’t be disappointed. ... show more

Quick shipping, packaged well, clear assembly instructions, easy to assemble, great color, sturdy, comfortable. If the arms were an inch higher (or seat an inch lower) it would be near perfect. Can’t wait to use it next time we have a fire.

I purchased 4 of these chairs and have a 5th on the way. The chairs are exactly what we wanted and work great. We have then set up around a fire pit in the back yard but can move them to the front yard to watch fireworks on the 4th etc. The chairs can flatten to be carried and are fairly easy to open up when you set them down to sit. They are pretty heavy and are made out of some kind of composite plastic material. They have a natural wood grain look and are easy to clean. One of the first 4 chairs that shipped arrived broken. They packaging is poorly designed and puts the largest and weakest part of the chair in a position to where it must support the entire weight of the chair if anyone ever puts the box down starting with one of the two corners where this part is (inside the box). I requested a replacement part using the Amazon feedback page. The company responded within one day asking some clarifying questions and sent a complete 5th chair as a replacement...which arrived with the same part broken. I requested a replacement again and provided more pictures in an effort to give them more feedback. This time, they shipped just the broken part and now I have 4 working chairs and am happy with my purchase! When it came time to throw away the 5th chair that was shipped, we decided it would be good to have a 5th chair and I asked the company if they would send another replacement part if I paid full chair price. They agreed and set up a new product in Amazon's shop just for me and the part I was requested. In addition to this they asked more clarifying questions because I had incorrectly described which part I wanted them to ship. I realize a long story about how to address a product that twice arrived broken seems like a hassle. However, this company responded to every one of my questions within a day and shipped replacement parts that arrived within a week each time to make it right. These (navy blue) modern adirondacks are really nice. Best part is they are comfy and the high back is nice to rest your head against. Height of the chair is perfect for a 5’4” female to have feet flat on ground when seated. The recline seems right and does not aggravate my sciatica. They fold flat which is great and they are not terribly heavy though they are not light either. Assembly was simple though 4 hands are waaay better than 2 and less aggravating. Reasons for 4 stars: screws for the slats go through the front and hence all 100 screw heads are visible taking a little away from the aesthetics but not a huge deal. The slats and parts seem to be hollow in the middle and if chairs are abused longevity could be an issue but with proper care should be fine. When I lean back the chair shifts a bit and settles into its full recline and creaks. This happens at every sitting so over time that could cause some wear and tear but maybe thats just the nature of a folding chair.
