I was a little skeptical when I placed this order, but my daughter loves claw machines. This personal claw machine was definitely a winner, although the instructions were basically useless. We struggled to get the compartment at the top of the device open and we were afraid of breaking the slide door if we applied too much pressure. Eventually, something gave and the door finally slid open allowing us access to the claw itself which needed to be untied, and the ability to add prizes to the machine. The machine came with 6 tiny stuffed animals and 6 tiny animal cars. Both my 8-year-old son and my 10-year-old daughter enjoyed playing with this for hours. The machine has three knobs which are easy enough to figure out and the game was easy enough to maintain their motivation, but challenging enough to keep them interested. The game did become more challenging the more items that were added. They both were able to retrieve all of the prizes when it was just the 12 included with the game, but when they started adding candy and other random prizes, it became a little more difficult. This little claw machine is a cute way to use positive reinforcement in my classroom. I really like the fact that it came with a few items to put inside. It is a little difficult to figure out how to get the plastic off of the 'claw', but it will move around some after you put the batteries in it. I still don't see a way to load it, other than flipping it upside down and putting the little plusses up through the chute. The included directions weren't very clear on the pamphlet or the box on that part. All in all, this has added an element of excitement to my class and I'm glad to get to use it! ... show more

This claw machine was so much fun to play with. It is a very nice size, so it calls for 3 D batteries, I thought with all the rechargeable battery toys these days, it would have been fantastic if this claw machine came with them. You can use the plastic coins it comes with or pennies to start the game. It has carnival sounds if you want them and flashing lights while you play. It gives you about a minute to try and grab a toy. What I really like is that you can put other prizes in it as well, wrapped candy, little bouncy balls and other small toys.
