I had been buying hardware cloth in local hardware stores (Home depot and Lowes), but their price continued to increase, and the stuff was really hard to work with, so I thought I would give Amazon a chance to compete, and ordered this product from them. I was happy to discover that it was 100% easier to work with, and to cut to the sizes I needed, and since I had PRIME, (it got here in 2 days free shipping. When I totaled the cost of the mesh from the hardware stores, and the gas i needed to go get it, Amazon won the purchase, and saved me a buck or two,) as well as being very strong. I used it, to put around various places on the mobile chicken coops I had built, to keep the varmints out of the coop, and protect my chickens. It works great. I was so happy with it, that I ordered another one for another coop I had built. When I got the second one, I discovered it was not 1/2 inch hole size, but 1 inch instead. That was no big deal, so I just kept it and used it, but I would recommend that if you order it for a specific project, make sure it will work for that project when you get it. The larger holes that came in my second order, was OK for my use, no varmints were going to get through the 1 inch holes, so I had no problem. ... show more

I ordered this wire despite quite a few negative reviews describing faulting welds, missing wire, etc. The price was much better than local hardware stores so I took a chance. I haven't used the entire roll but so far I have found no concerning issues. A few of the wire "gaps" are slightly smaller than 1" x 1/2" but previous reviews had stated missing wire altogether or large gaps so I'm fine with this. The welds could be stronger. When bending the wire to make rabbit cages sometimes the weld would break on ends. Thankfully it was never in a place that really mattered for me. So far so good. Maybe they increased quality control or maybe I just got lucky. ... show more

    • Has held up well over 2.5 years
I used this on my chicken coop. Although the description states "Galvanized before welding", the wire did not have the traditional matte galvanized appearance of mesh I purchase at the local hardware store. It has a very bright finish. Since I live near the ocean, I painted it all with enamel paint to retard oxidation. This was a pain and may have been overkill. The wire is heavy gauge and I didn't have any welds break while I was cutting and bending. If the fencing really was galvanized, and hold up to the elements, I'd give it 5 stars, but if it's a rusty mess in a year, I'd give it only 3. Update: It has been 17 months and it still looks good. Not rust at all. This may have been because I painted it, but I will probably buy more soon. I'll give it 5 stars as it looks like it is holding up well and has kept anything from eating my chickens. Update 2: Still looking good after 2.5 years even near the coast. The thin galvanized chicken wire I used up high on the coop has practically dissolved. I bought two more rolls of this wire. I won't be painting them this time. ... show more

    • Good Quality with Good Welds
I couldn't find this in my local hardware shops so glad to find it here at decent price. Good welded mesh. Thick enough for my crabbing purposes. Easy to bend with standard pliers. I got some handheld steel cable cutters off Amazon which made a world of difference.

this was for bunny cages, and it works well. the 25 ft roll was almost enough for two 24"x24"X36" cages. basically, i made one cage with a divider in the middle, and used one long strip of the wire material to make all 4 sides (so I only had to use clips on one edge) and one strip for the top, and one strip for the bottom. I had to add material to the top (left over from another project) to finish the cage. ... show more

    • Great durability and decent wire. however a few of the tack welds got missed on 2 or 3 wires.
I've been buying these wire for the last couple of years and they are normally a good reliable option and great for the price. however one of the rolls i recently ordered had a few wires that had 3 or 4 consecutive missed wire welds on the same wire causing these wires to completely move out of the way. and leave an unexpected space that i had to redo the tack welds on and cold coat galvanize. ... show more
