  • Works great
Style: 18" Leaf Rake
This is heavy duty well made. I use it for hay from my rabbits and it works. Would definitely recommend buying this

  • Yard Butler World’s Greatest Rake 8” Wide Shrub Rake
Style: 8" Shrub Rake
I bought it to do occasional yard work. I left it outdoors and the rain made some metal on it to rust which surprised me. It is very sturdy for and weighty for men's muscles, but sort of heavy for mine. I use it but prefer a lighter a version. What I've used previously is a plastic forked rake with a metal handle/pole intended for kids to help their parents do yard work. I'm average height, but the kid's rake surely works great for mall clean ups under bushes. Anyway, for garden tool manufacturers --please consider to make smaller and ligher ones to help women get their work done efficiently in the yard too. Thank you. ... show more

  • World's greatest? Maybe!
Style: 18" Leaf Rake
It's rather cheeky to label a product "world's greatest" in its name, and as a naturally skeptical person, I had doubts. But we needed another rake as our house is surrounded by trees and the cheap rake we bought when we moved in is falling apart, so why not? The tines on this rake feel very solid; they're fastened securely, and they don't bend or wobble when the rake is in use. The handle is comfortable, even for a long lawn cleanup session. It ships in two pieces, able to be reassembled by matching a spring-loaded pin on one half of the handle with a hole in the other. Once assembled, it feels very secure, but being able to be taken apart like that means it can be stored in a compact space if necessary. I tested the rake by removing leaves from my lawn (happy fall, y'all) and from a stone patio. I was impressed at how well it worked. The tines dig in to the job like they mean business, and I didn't have to pass over the same spot multiple times to pick up the debris. I thought it would be less efficient since it's only about two-thirds the width of the average rake, but due to the solid construction and the smaller size being easy to handle, it clears leaves faster overall. The smaller size and hollow handle also make it lighter than average, which adds to the ease of use. There may be a better rake somewhere out there in the world, but this one is definitely the best I've used. I'm quite impressed. ... show more

  • Redesigned handle is SO HEAVY.
Style: Bundle Pack
I have been using World’s Greatest Rakes for 25 years so I was thrilled to see the set available for Black Friday. I was SO DISSATISFIED that they have switched from the traditional wooden handle (the part of the rake that lasts the longest) to a sectioned metal handle. For those of us who do this for a living and actually rake leaves etc, this model is absurd. The sheer weight of the new handle is absolutely ridiculous. It doesn’t matter if you’re taking a tiny pile of leaves on a patio, but once your have sweaty hands and actual yard or garden to rake, this metal handle is horrible. It will be sliding around in the hands, will get hot in the sun, jiggles around because it links together in the center….WHY DID THEY REDESIGN THIS TO TRASH?? The wooden handles take would last a number of years, while I have worn the tines flat repeatedly or they have broken because of the thin screw used for attachment. I am returning this set. This is not made for actual gardeners, but for propping up in a decorated shed. Way too heavy for actual use. I hate the redesign. I dare say there are many people who have actually used this model of rake for the amount of hours I have in my life and I am livid. Will be returning and will buy what’s left at the inflated price at our local garden center. SO DISAPPOINTED. Read the good reviews, those folks didn’t even pull it out of the box to review. ... show more

  • TIL the differences between "garden," "lawn," and "leaf" rakes.
Style: 18" Leaf Rake
I recently received this "Yard Butler World’s Greatest Leaf Rake | Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Rake with Ergonomic Garden Claw, 20 Free-Floating Tines & Long Handle – Lawn, Yard, Bed, Landscape for Leaves, Grass & Debris, 18"" and I honestly don't know why I took so long to finally order myself a "normal" rake! It's great and if you've been putting off getting one - stop that right now, lol! I ordered this rake as soon as I saw it available for review. I'd been putting it off for far too long. It arrived pretty quickly and was nicely packaged. The box is fairly generic, so if you're worried about presentation, remember the "gift wrap option" is out there. This rake is a very typical looking and has a traditional "garden" or "lawn rake" shape, not to be confused with a "bow" rake, both of which are often referred to as "garden rakes" as well. This one is metal and fan-shaped though, so even though it's the same shape, it's not a "leaf rake," because it seems a leaf rake would be plastic. Also, I knew none of these differences in rakes until today (when I realized I knew so little rake-specific terminology to write this review). So yay for that, right? Apparently, the big difference is that fan-shaped rakes which are metal are typically used for lawns, whereas plastic fan-shaped rakes are considered leaf rakes. The more you know, right? :) This rake didn't take much time to assemble (literally only a few seconds) and the instructions were pretty clear. The top and bottom ends of the rake slide into the middle section and lock into place with retractable pins, so it really could not be much easier without the rake being a single, solid piece. Once assembled, the rake felt sturdy and did a decent job when I cleaned up some leftover lawn debris after a recent storm. Autumn is around the corner, and I'm thrilled to have the right tool I'll need when the gigantic gum tree begins littering the yard with thousands and thousands of leaves. It's a fairly compact-feeling rake, though the bendable tines spread out pretty far when pressed against the ground. They're pliable enough that they don't get caught on roots too badly, while still being effective maneuvering piles of leaves and underbrush. It was priced at $39.99 when I placed my order and I would definitely order this product again. Happy to recommend! ... show more
