  • Great Instrument Preferered Over Yamaha 62iii
Just got it from Chuck Levins. I prefer it over the Yamaha 62iii because coming off of a Veto the low notes play easier than the 62, I liked the key mechanisms more, and it sounded slightly better. It's a great professional instrument low notes play effortlessly, it's engraved, and comes with its $150+ yanagisawa hard rubber 5 mouthpiece along with a case, cork grease, cheap neck strap, and polishing clothe. However, the case has 2 bottom backpack straps that fold into the case but they tilt the case over a little but not so that it falls down. Also, the expert at Chuck Levins told me that the Yanagisawa metal is thinner than the Yamaha metal so therefore it's more easy to dent and the soldering (the way how the mechanisms are attached) is different from the Yamaha 62iii in a bad way so if you're buying it make sure you treat it with great care. Overall though I'm super content with my instrument as a hard core trying to get into bands player. This saxophone can last private lesson players well through high school and into college and adulthood. ... show more
