If you like exploring different sounds, this is an amazing keyboard. It has both AWE2 wavetable synthesis and FM synthesis based on the Yamaha DX7 synth from the 1980, but upgraded to new features. The only thing disappointing about the synth is the keyboard. It would have been nice to have had a weighted, piano-style keybed. For those accustomed to playing organs and synths, however, the keybed is fine. The MODX7 is essentially a stripped-down version of the flagship Montage synthesizer. However, the MODX is a far better value for many musicians, especially amateurs like me. For those who are beginners, the MODX is far too complex. There are less expensive digital pianos that would be ideal for beginning and intermediate pianists. ... show more

Brought for church and live recordings and I can't tell you what all this thing does but it's amazing to have!! It does everything even used with a computer or tablet or laptop to install sounds and you name it!!
