I bought these headphones to use with my Yamaha Clavinova digital piano. I also bought the Philips Audio SHP9500 HiFi Precision Stereo Over-Ear Headphones for $62 ($79.99 full price). There was NO comparison between the two. This Yamaha pair is far, far better. The sound was much louder, much bigger, much clearer, and they are significantly lighter and more comfortable than the Philips pair. They seem flimsy, but I think that's deceptive. I couldn't believe how clear the sound is, and how it gives the impression of a loud soundstage. The sound leakage is minimal. There was no noise in the street, so I can't speak to how well they keep out other sounds. Please note that I don't have experience of headphones in any price range above the $110 that these cost, but I can tell you that the sound is beautiful. Clear as a bell, and now I know what is meant by a large soundstage. I think these are excellent headphones for the price. Waiting to hear how well they will drown out outside noise...will update.

I am reviewing the HPH-150B open air headphones. They are probably nothing like the other Yamaha headphones that are grouped together in these reviews. When evaluating these reviews, the reader must know which one of the headphones are being reviewed. The sound quality of HPH-150B is comparable to headphones that cost 3-5 times as much. As expected from an open-air headphone, bass is not loud as closed-back headphones, but the quality of the bass is still good. The mids and highs are very, very, good, and an incredible bargain for $100. The only caveat is that one has to be a little careful with these headphones as they are not the most robust I have seen. I had several parts become detached, but I was able to put them back together OK, but with some wires that previously hidden, now visible.

These head phones are (in general) pretty good for my p-125. For $100 I would have expected a little more, but they get the job done without breaking the bank.

Honestly, I don't find much difference between any other good headphones around. But those are really light and comfortable. Have in mind that due to its technology, people who are next to you will clearly listen to what you are listening to, ok? That is very important to know before you buy it.

Surprised the aural sound is so realistic. At times I cannot even tell the headphones are on since it sounds like the sound is coming from my n1x. Definitely worth it since it is below the msrp on Yamaha. The headphones themself are quite light and donโt hurt your ear if you wear them for a plethora of hours.

Left side is noticeably lower than the right. I confirmed this by wearing the headset in reverse. Also, the sound is somewhat muffled - almost like listening to music underwater. This is my first open air headset so I did not know what level of sound quality to expect but it will do when I practice my keyboard scales. Last - this headset rests on your earlobes - not over it. After about two hours of wearing it my ears were starting to ache.

This is a really amazing headphone designed by Yamaha Japan. The sound clarity is really good and much better than the built in keyboard speakers. I liked this so much that I bought another pair since my P115 digital piano supports 2 headphones - one for the instructor and the other for the student.
