Depending on your purpose, this is either a very good beginner's learning keyboard or a decent casual gig keyboard. You need to note the keyboard is narrower than standard, and you will need to adjust. But in its own market niche, I think it is the best overall. This is a great busking or casual keyboard - can run on batteries and the various sounds that MATTER (piano and electric piano) have a more polished and professional quality (strictly MY opinion, check the demos) than the others in this price/weight/quality class. Keyboard feel: this is very subjective. I find playing the keyboard feels - fine. The keys when played just to test the feel are plasticky and not very pleasant, but when PLAYING, they are FINE. The look? My wife, who has seen MANY 'boards come through this house, thinks it looks 'great' (unsolicited.) Layout: Compared to the other contenders, this is a B+. Having the various classes of sound clearly designated is a HUGE plus. Not having the labels to show the transpose and balance function is is simply a mistake. That being said, the performing experience at casuals is everything i needed from a basic gigging keyboard - solid acoustic pianos, usable electric pianos, understandable control and under 15 lbs WITH batteries. I am SO happy with this beautiful keyboard. I first bought a 64 key one and it was not comfortable for me as I was too used to playing a regular 88 key piano. The sound choices are simple but absolutely beautiful!! The ability to have two instruments play together is exactly what I wanted. I’m 75 and had sold my piano when I moved into a new community. I’ve missed it so much and this is the perfect solution that was reasonably priced and a perfect size for me. i bought this for our granddaughter when she started music classes at age 5. it has very good grand piano and pipe organ sounds. the big reasons i chose this over other keyboards: 1) unlike many other beginner keyboards that have so many buttons and hundreds of sounds, this has the bare minimum. i wanted my granddaughter to learn music and not to be pushing buttons to hear cars crashing, barking dogs, etc. 2) yamaha quality. ... show more
