I wanted light filtering curtains, not blackout curtains and these fit the bill. They have a slight sheen to them which makes them look lush and I didn't even need to iron them before hanging them. My husband really appreciates these curtains because they keep a lot of the morning light out so he can sleep a little later. These drapes are as black out as you can get with out spending hundreds of dollars. Don’t let the low price fool you , they are not cheap at all. The fabric is nice & soft too. I bought them for my sons bedroom and mine because they worked so well at keeping the sun & cool/hot air out My second photo is another brand I tried prior, who CLAIMS to be blackout but as you can clearly see they don’t even keep the light out on a cloudy day. Believe it or not, these photos are of the same window! I do recommend that to get the creases out before hanging them, toss them in the dryer with a clean damp cloth or towel on low heat for 20 minutes. If you hang them right away, they will be perfect as if they had been ironed. This is going to be my first choice in the future foe other rooms. These are nice drapes. Soft to the touch, same color on both sides. They are ROOM DARKENING but definitely not black-out! Delivery was fast. Good price.
