The media could not be loaded. A few months ago I asked Yahboom if they would make a quadruped and they said they were getting a lot of requests for one so were considering. Now they have released it and it is great. Very much up to their latest standard of quality of their top of the line robot platforms. This is a solid metal framed robot with some nice sounding servos. It feels top of the line, no expense spared. The robot comes fully assembled except for installing the Pi and adding the metal cover over that. The included SD card is preloaded with the OS and Yahboom software installed and setup. I bought the one without the Pi but everything else came with it. Getting started is a matter of minutes. Install the app and you can have it walking around and doing tricks right out of the box. But this isn't meant to just be a fun toy. This, like the other robots from Yahboom, are educational robotics platforms. Dogzilla is a ROS kit and much like the other recent ones has all the latest bells and whistles. Although the Dogzilla doesn't come with LIDAR like the Transbot; instead you get 12 degrees of freedom through its 12 servos and a 9-axis IMU and joint position sensor. Out of the box it has a highly stable gait system. All the basics are already developed and are either loaded by default or supplied in code for you to load. This being an educational robotics platform means it comes with a huge learning library. I've watched this resource grow over the years and now it is truly impressive the amount of free training that comes with these robots. It will take you from the pure basics of reviewing and loading sample code to all the specs you need to control every function in Python. ROS is the standard of Robotics Operating System. Learning ROS on a platform like this can prepare you for professional robotics control. Be sure to view the documentation for the other ROS robots on Yahboom's site and you will find even more ROS training. One thing new with Dogzilla is the use of jupyterLab preloaded on the OS. It's a great open source IDE for ROS and the Dogzilla documentation walks you through getting started (although it is a bit out of order, jump back and forth through steps 3,5,&7). In conclusion, not only is this another top of the line educational robotics platform, it is also an attention getter. If are wanting to interest others in robotics a quadruped platform will definitely get their attention.
