Initially did not think they were heavy enough to be labeled thermal, but I hung them so they puddle on the floor and do help keep out the cold. They are hung in a north window so can’t comment on light blocking, but you cannot see through them at night from the outside or inside. They are beautifully printed on a quality canvas-like fabric and are just beautiful. Only downside is that there is only one panel for the price. I really love the color and print of these curtains! They do have some sheerness to them, so if you want 100% black out, I would not buy or buy 100% blackout curtains to put behind them. Easy to use, had some wrinkles when I opened them, but the wrinkles came out fairly quick.

I used this is a bedroom doorway to add a little privacy. It does hold the heat in some and seems to dampen some noise. The length is perfect. While I did not get it for darkening the room or hallway it does make it darker and this is also desired as my sleep hours change. I would buy again.
