Since my analyzer was out on loan, I approached this 25 foot length of coax with a comparison test with another of the same length, size, and impedance. Since the velocity factor of the cable was not given, that fact induced me to do this simple but effective comparison test. I attached a this 25 foot length of cable to my 80 Watt two meter transceiver via the power, standing wave meter. The antenna output was sent through the coax under test to a 50 ohm dummy load. The test revealed that the loss was negligible. For the same power in to the the dummy load the loss was only about 1 watt. Keep in mind that this was only an A/B comparison test. There was no change in the VSWR. That is to be expected and also a good sign. The next step was to hookup another one 25 foot length of coax line from a well known and respected manufacturer. The results were so nearly identical it was really difficult to judge which cable was the winner. Suffice to say, the test results satisfied me that the coax is of comparable quality and represents an excellent value. I also closely visually examined the attachment of the PL 259. Nice neat clean blob of solder visible at the hole of the center pin. No telltale evidence of rosin that could be the result of a cold joint. O forcefully moved the cable back and forth while in a key down mode to test for any breaks. Things were rock solid with no change in the power output or the VSWR. I am quite satisfied that this is a good low loss feed line at a modest price for a one hundred foot length. Another value bonus. The PL-259 connectors are preinstalled. For all, I am giving this item a FULL FIVE STARS. I hope you can get that whopper of a wide spaced beam up there and can work some DX. A couple of days ago Six was open till almost Ten PM. Good DX contacts. In my opinion this coax should serve you well, and It is designed to get high power to that antenna. Been there done that, for sure.

Very good low resistant coax cable, although it is quite flexible, it is a large diameter and if you are planning on running it between the door and door frame, it will squash the cable. I had to run it run it through at dash height on my Peterbilt and it did squash it and it did distort the door enough that I had to add a little insulation strip at the top front corner of the door frame. The distortion of the cable didn't affect it. I have SWR of 1 on both Channel 40 and 1. And the 10 ft length was perfect for my application. Don't believe the required 18 ft. myth. Regardless of the length it will still be a 50 OHM cable and the sinewave will adapt to any length. So, if the larger cable diameter isn't a problem, this is a good choice. If you are planning on running it between the door and door frame, then look for the mini RG8 cable, which is what I thought I ordered.

Bought this cuz I needed a low-loss V/UHF cable with next day shipping. Good quality construction, nice connectors & shrink wrap, cleanly installed. Fairly stiff. My first 0.4" dia. coax, it's big stuff! A good value, if it specs out (havent measured). Unfortunately no specs posted by seller or I'd rate 5 stars, but did find some elsewhere. K8MRD posted a detailed YouTube review of this cable with measured specs that were pretty good: only a little more loss than true LMR400. (Search YT for "K8MRD KMR400" to find it.) [Wanted to buy some RG-8X from this seller today but they didn't have any with PL-259s, just SMA and N connectors...]

Hello from Fla. I used this KMR-400 100’ coax for a 2 meter diamond antenna. It’s rolled very tight at the center, So when you start your initial installation hold the roll in the vertical position with connector pointing away from your body. Walk backwards as it 400 rolls straight as an arrow on the ground. Do this on a sunny day. And then let it lie on the ground for 48 hours. You can then install this on whatever antenna project without any problems or kinks. Connectors seemed professionally installed with weather resistant heat shrink. So far so good on 2 meter band. 1.1 SWR. @ 100 watts. Good luck 73s N4EVG

The cable reminds me of rg8u not Rg8x from about 50 years ago. Simply thicker for lower loss on all frequencies, but more crucial on vhf and especially uhf ham frequencies. Probably gmrs as well, but I am not familiar with gmrs. I am a ham operator. The cable plainly says kmr 400 and is the length I ordered. Sufficiently long to insure safe rf exposure for me and everyone else at my low wattage and antenna location. I am fortunate to be on top of a mountain with a base antenna with db gain. I don't need that much wattage output, but still low loss on uhf 70 centimeter. This cable will do nicely. It has 2 pl259 as advertised. Shipping and delivery was fast. It's flexible enough for my application.

Seems like quality cable and appropriate thickness for LMR/KMR 400, flexibility is to be expected. My main issue with the cable is the packaging makes the radius too tight for the cable and could be damaging over time. I have used this cable a dozen or so times now, and I still can not get the memory out of it from the original tight packaging.
