This weight rack can handle my 20lb, 15lb, 12lb, and 10lb CAP hex dumbbell sets. These were my priority weights that I needed off the floor. I was fully aware that the width between the hooks had a bit more space for my son's and husband's, and I didn't plan to put neoprene dumbbells there. However, some of the longer ones kinda fit up top. This would easily hold 25, 20, 15, and 10lb hex sets. The images on the instruction book is straight forward, and the two little tools worked fine. I lack a bit of hand strength for the final tightening of the bolts, so my teen son helped. My only CON is that it has some mild rust around a few of the joints. Good but not GREAT! First issue, assembly I have no wobble because I tightened the bolts provided using a small ratchet. If you use the included wrench this will be hard to do and they may be to lose and cause wobble! Second weights not having space between them. Absolutely CORRECT! See picture! However, in the company defense, their picture has a 25LB weight as their largest dumbbell and then smaller as you go to the top. These will have a gap between the weights. third hand pinch can occur! lastly, this could be a five-star product, recommend increasing the width by .25 inch on the side holders and adding .25 inch in height between each level and you should have a 5-star winner! ... show more

It's solid steel, and about 15 lbs, which provides decent sturdiness. However, the rubber or plastic strips that run along the bars were too long though easily cut to fit with scissors. One of the mounting holes was malformed with metal inside and the bolt would not fit through. Luckily I had a narrow cylindrical metal file to take care of that. After the fitment issues were taken care of, assembly was simple. I appreciate that there are plastic inserts for the sets of 4 dumbbell holders on each end, but the 4 inch width is too wide for some weights. Also, the distance between each set of holders is equal and too small for dumbbells with larger diameter weights. It would have been better if the manufacturer staggered the distances, for e.g. small distance at the top for lighter weights and large distance at the bottom for heavier weights. To make weights fit you may have to get creative and stack large/small/large/small or just put the heavy weights on the bars. I could make this work for me but it is not an ideal setup. ... show more

Substantial construction details were evident upon opening the box. Card with 8 bolts, nuts, and washers was included, along with instructions. Steel sides and spreaders are substantial. My 10, 15, and 20-pound weights fit the side slots perfectly. My 3 and 5-pound plastic coated weights are a skosh too narrow to fit over the support tracks, but the 8-pounder fits. My solution was to put my Amazon Basics plastic frame for the 3, 5, and 8-pound weights on the mat just in front of the new rack. Simple and works fine for both me and my wife.     • Nuts are hard to tighten!?! Are you kidding me?
I’m going to address 90% of the negative reviews on this because it just blows my mind how simple people can be. The stand comes with locking nuts (obviously you don’t want them to come loose over time). Yes, that means it’s harder to tighten completely and the wrench included may be insufficient for the job. But is that really a reason for a negative review- it’s too hard to tighten the nuts!? Spend $5 and get a 1/2” or 13mm socket and setup becomes a breeze. Once built I was able to get my set of 5-40 lb dumbbells on there (I do have some increments missing in my set). Clearance on the sides is tight - my 35s do rest on top of the 40s, which are on the bottom rung. It’s certainly not a dealbreaker. I just move 4 weights instead of just 2. If you know the dimensions of your weights and this rack up front, you will not be in for a surprise. For a small rack it’s perfect. Seems sturdy, even on a carpeted surface. ... show more

I like this rack, overall. It's sturdy and performs as advertised and is a great way to store your dumbbells. I think the instructions could have been more helpful in explaining the kind of tools one would need to assemble it. I read the mixed reviews for this product, and the negative ones almost made me not want to buy it, but I gave it a shot. After about 10 or 15 minutes of struggling to keep the bolts tight enough to keep the rack together, it dawned on me to use my socket set with my allen wrench to strengthen the connections.     • Sturdy Product!
I use this rack to hold 82 lbs. of dumbbells and it works perfectly for it! I like the middle horizontal benches to place the weights in between sets and the stability of the rack itself. The only issue I have with it is the plastic pieces that are on each of the dumbbell holders popped off in-transit and won't just pop back on. We just have them sitting on the spot they belong, but sometimes they fall off since they aren't secured any more. I am sure if I reached out to the vendor sooner, I could have gotten them replaced.
