  • Sleeper Brand
Size: 9.5 Color: Camouflage
Long time Wolverine boot owner, Im talkin I had one pair of Wolverines for 14 years, and that pair went through about 15 elk/deer hunts through the wilderness. Anyways the reason I bring up my one pair is because this pair of boots has restored my faith in buying new boots. I tried a different pair last year also, and that "waterproof" boot did not make the cut after1 elk hunt. This boot feels very sturdy and well made which was surprising for an offbrand shoe. The tread is nice and has a good grip. My FAVORITE part is how FREAKIN comfy this shoe is, talk about walking on clouds. I've broke them in with 8 miles of street use up and down hills, and I cannot wait to take them hunting. The only thing I was unable to test was waterproofing, if it sucks I will update review. So far it is exactly what I need and what I've been looking for without breaking the bank. ... show more

  • All in all I like them alot and I bought more.
Size: 9 Color: Camouflage
I am a land surveyor. I walk everywhere. Steep slopes and off trail most of time in north west Arkansas. I love these boots. I use them every day and even bought more. The pictures are a year of use. I only showed the right one because I am right dominant and it has the most ware. I have a garmin watch I have had on for the last year and it says I have walked 923.9 miles so I would say about 700 of those are probably in these boots. I bought the camo ones for hunting this year. ... show more

  • Great buy!
Size: 12 Color: Grey
bought these as I needed the stable ankle support & they wear very well style & fit-wise. I had to have one of em altered by having a lift put on it & even w/ that the boot is top-notch. I got the grey but Im thinking of picking up a pair of the black. Very light & wet-proof. Id recommend em.

  • Almost perfect
Size: 10.5 Color: Black
I actually love these and they fit great really they also look great. It feels like you can wear them anywhere and they are light too. BUT, I took them on a hike and after 5 miles up a mountain and I found my problem with these. They dont have enough padding above the ankle and they started to really hurt. it actually scuffed my skin (the right one only which was weird) almost to the point of bleeding and eventually it did bruise my leg just above the ankle. could be not properly cut/sized? I dont have a walking problem and never had this happen. no matter how much I adjusted them I hurt. I could not wait to take them off. note to make you really need to think about adding some padding (more) at the top. its too bad cause these are otherwise great. I bought them for survival but no way these will make that cut. From now on I will have to wear extra padding when I go hiking. ... show more

  • Expected yet unexpected
Size: 11 Color: Black
I bought this pair to replace a previous pair of the same brand (Cordura model) I purchased almost a year ago. I use these boots as my work boots and seeing as I work in a refrigerated environment (40°F avg.) I thought I would give the insulated model a try. As expected, fit was exactly the same and it should be as previous pair/model are made on the exact same footbed and overall shoe design, just different upper materials. Now, we get down to the nittt gritty...dry traction is not quite the same as the previous pair but pretty darn close. Compared to the previous pair, wet traction on the other hand (the non-slip advertisemnt) is non existent; it's as though the formula for the sole rubber has changed. Wether it has or not, I can not say for sure as I have not asked the manufacturer about it. By comparison to the previous pair, it's a night and day difference, I don't feel the grip and stability under foot when walking on the wet concrete (something I often have to do at work) and metal dock plates as the previous pair which seemed to grip with great tenacity in all the conditions I face at work daily. As I mentiined earlier, my work environment is refrigerated and my toes would get quite cold at times, hence why I opted for this "insulated" pair as my repacement. The manufacturer advertises that the insulation is effective at keeping one's feet warm down to -13°F...well, suffice it to say, these do not live up to that claim by a long shot, my toes are just as cold in this pair as they were in the previous pair. Am I going to return this pair....not just yet. They are comfortable and do seem to be quite water repellent (upper material) and not enough of an issue in the work environment at this time that I feel it's pertinent to do so. I just have to walk with more care than I normaly would when the floors are wet. In all honesty though, I am still debating on sending them back because I don't want to risk a "slip and fall" injury that could cost me in the long run. I have barely had them a week and only worn them to work 4 days. I'll give them till the end of the week and see if the "wet grip" changes any at all (maybe the sole needs to "break in"). My only other beef with the shoes (this is referring to the other pair and pretty much every other shoe brand out there)...why is the heel counter material so weak and thin? This area of just about every shoe on the market is the first spot to deteriorate in a shoe and it makes shoes uncomfortable and a pain to take off without one's heel catching on the material preventing the shoe coming off when wanted. A wedge shaped piece of high abrasion resistant material like Cordura for instance in this location would do wonders for the durability of the shoe. Is this instance enough of a deterrent to go back to this manufacturer again for another pair of shoes...I think not. This could just be a fluke, a one off instance but if any of the other styles offered by this manufacturer are like my first pair and offer up the same kind of traction as that pair had, i will definitely look to them for my next pair of hiking shoes/ boots. ... show more
