The kit comes with (almost) everything you need to start saddle hunting, albeit you will need to purchase or already have some form of climbing sticks. The platform is well built and comes with a lifetime metal warranty. It is a bit heavier compared to some other platforms weighing in at around 5lbs I believe it was but they go for around 150$ separate. Which really just sets the kit apart as far as price goes. The next feature which makes this kit worth the money hands down are the ropes and carabiners. Now the old kits I saw came with what look to be the same ropes except they were tied and the new kit has sewn eyes. This kit comes with a tree tether, linesman belt, and bridge (all the same length) as well as three prusiks for each line. They include three steel screw lock carabiners which would cost around 20-30$ for the three. This again is just wow on the price point. Now to the saddle. It’s not the comfiest, you will not find yourself saying “d*mn I can’t even tell I’m not sitting in my chair at home” but you will with some finagling find a relatively comfortable bridge height and general position. It is a saddle/harness combo which is actually a great idea for the beginner who maybe wants to use a ladder stand one day or a climber another. This does give you that availability without requiring multiple harnesses and setups. Now if you are cray cray like me and some others you can mod the saddle with minimal effort and make it a pure saddle but this absolutely leaves you at risk if you take any fall. The saddles are designed for static loads not shock loads, which could result in catastrophic failure of the system.This again at this price point seems like an absolute win. So final opinions and thoughts, it’s a great kit. It has everything you really need at a price that’s impossible to match. If you’re hesitant about saddle hunting this is a great intro into it without breaking the bank. If I was to make a cons list it would be rather small considering the price of everything separated would be probably 1.5-2x more expensive. The biggest issue I have is no molle attachments for say a dump pouch (not a deal breaker you can get little letting type clips and set it up another way). Other than that the tether, bridge and lineman are all the same length and have stitched eyes instead of being tied (stronger) but you can always shorten the bridge line with a knot if you’re willing to reduce the strength of that section (up to 50%) I recommend this product 100% to a beginner saddle hunter or someone who is just looking to dip their toes in before diving into this style of hunting head first.

When this deal was $200, it was a bargain. Saddle, stand, and ropes. Can't beat that deal from any manufacturer and there are tons these days. For anyone getting into saddle hunting, let me first warn you that it's not for everyone. Climbing up and down is not going to be easy if you have issues with mobility. Its more difficult than climbing a ladder stand. Try to pregame if you need bathroom breaks. Secondly, you MUST practice climbing and shooting from the saddle before heading into the woods on a hunt. DO NOT go out there thinking you can simply climb and hunt without some practice. You may get hurt, drop your gear, or worse lose the entire day because you didn't have a clue how to operate the equipment. XOP has a few videos out there that help you get started. The saddle does not have MOLLE webbing but believe me you don't want to carry tons of gear up with you. Get a good backpack and maybe a couple dump bags. This kit comes with one dump bag and it's good for the bridge rope or any carabiners. The stand works great if you cam it over next to your top step. XOP also has great climbing sticks at a great price as well. Very good product for the beginner saddle hunter. Next step is the 2 strap saddles.

A LOT OF STRAPS. My only real complaint is the amount of straps. Not necessarily a terrible complaint but I found it necessary to find the loosest position I could want all of my straps to ever be, and tape them up. I also really wish the fall arrest lanyard was detachable, wearing a backpack with the lanyard can be pretty uncomfortable. I taped my lanyard as well since I plan to primarily saddle hunt which admittedly only made it bulkier and that much more uncomfortable with my pack, however, I wont be utilizing it much so i dont want it flopping around, but I also don't want to cut it off permanently. The ropes that come with it are perfectly adequate, not amazing but still good quality. The best thing about it is the xop platform. Couple friends have some of the other branded platforms such as the cruzr and tethrd and the xop is FAR superior to them both. Once it's locked in to the tree it doesn't move. Only platform i would trade it for would be the more expensive XOP Invader Platform. Especially for someone new to saddle hunting that may not know if they're going to love it or do it long-term, this is easily the best setup to get into it at a cheaper price than some of the $700-800 kits from other brands. and all you need with it is sticks and a bow. Ultimately this setup can get you safely and comfortably up a tree for $400-500 (including the purchase of sticks).

This set is the best price on the market and the best value. a great starter set for new saddle hunters. It is very strong and sturdy clamps onto the tree firmly and easily with little to no wiggle. The tree saddle/harness is pretty comfortable and very adjustable and well made. I am 5' 11 285 pounds and it can still go bigger. My son is 5' and maybe 100 pounds and he can wear it too It is very adjustable. It is heavier than some of the more expensive versions on the market but it also can hold more weight than a lot of them can as well. It's not the best one on the market but it is the best value and I trust my life to it. And I have recommended it to my friends.

The craftsmanship behind this product is rock solid. This is my first year saddle hunting and I'm honestly really happy that I made the switch from my hang on tree stand. I truly feel a lot safer with the saddle kit going up and coming down from the tree during my hunts or practicing shooting from different angles with my compound. The best bit of advice I can give is this, take some time from a convenient tree and find the adjustment on your saddle and tree tether to find what is comfortable. Overall, I love the saddle kit and the price I paid for it was second to none. For me personally, the saddle harness is a lot more comfortable than sitting on my hang on stand for the equivalent amount of time I have sat in the saddle kit. The longest I've sat with both is around 8 hours on both and I've sat multiple times this season solely in the saddle and have had a great time! Next on the list will be the xop ultra sticks.

There's been some hype about saddle hunting so I decided to give it a try. After one day of it I can honestly say i should of just bought more stands. First this thing is not comfortable at all. Every 5min I was trying to make adjustments. As this thing was digging into my legs, squeezing my hips and sides. Standing on the little platform just wore out my legs and feet. Mind you I spend 12hrs a day on me feet without issue while working. You can't sit at all without your knees digging into the tree. The carabiners stick with almost no tension twisting them closed. I spent 20min trying to unlock/untwist the bridge carabiner. I ended up having to tap it with another to break it free. Way to spook any deer from the area. With the amount of money already invested in this saddle hunting I could of bought 4 more tree stands and actually been comfortable while hunting and not spooking deer every 5mins trying to get comfortable. I hunt from ladder stands and the only advantage this saddle has is I can choose my height to set up at but other then that I'm lugging around this saddle with a bunch of ropes and carabiners, heavy platform, climbing sticks, pull rope ect.. just to stand/sit uncomfortably for my entire hunt.

I ended up cutting all the extra tether stuff off since I won’t use it for hunting a tree stand. The platform is sturdy and it’s kind of heavy. If you choose two two things out of the three comfy, sturdy, light, I’d take comfy and sturdy. Well made and I’m happy with it. It’s opened up saddle hunting without a huge price tag.

For the price, you can’t beat it! Sure there may be better out there, but at the price of $200 you get everything you need, except a way to climb the tree. I’ve removed all the straps that are not needed for the saddle other than the two back straps. Used the chest buckle to make a belt out of those straps. Now, it’s money dude!
