I don't know why I figured this would be bigger... But I did. The fan seems well made. It has very nicely machined parts. The blade is sharp! Be careful with that, especially with kids who may be tempted to touch it. It doesn't move a lot of air, but it does make a noticeable amount of movement. It came with a temp guage, which is a nice touch. Can't speak to accuracy though. Overall, this is a neat one, just temper expectations and you will lime it. ... show more

I have another of these fans, so I know they don't move much air around. I figure I'll get 3 total for the fireplace (yes, these do work in wood-burning fireplaces) and maybe the triple action will actually get some heat moving more than a few feet from the flames. I though my other fan was teeny but it looks like this one's much bigger brother. So, on to testing it, because that's what Vine reviewers do. I wasn't about to start a fire in the fireplace in May, so I fired up the oven to 425 degrees F and stuck this little fan inside. Checked back in a few minutes and its tiny blades were spinning like there's no tomorrow. It works. It's not going to blow air very far, but it will definitely blow air. Maybe you'll decide, as I have, to try using a few at once. We'll see how that goes, come winter. ... show more

The fan works fairly well. It has a magnetic base to hold it to the stove. The best part is it moves air from the stove with no electricity. Now for what’s not so great. It’s extremely small you can see in the pic it’s smaller than my hand by several inches and while it does move air it’s about the same as a computer fan when it’s running at full speed. If the heat from the stoves drops so does the output. Honestly you would need a couple of these to make a huge difference. There not that expensive tho so in my opinion it would be worth investing in them to save money on electricity and it works if the power goes out. ... show more

If you use wood heat for your home like we do, a fan like this is a great choice. We have one on top of our wood stove and it does a great job of heating the hard-to-reach corners of our house. The fan has a thermocouple so you don't need to power it. Heat is all that is required to start the motor. It moves a reasonable amount of air, but this particular unit is quite small. I got this to use with a propane heater unit, but, since summer is well upon Texas I have not had opportunity to try it out with the intended unit since we are already in the 90's. However, I have put it through a couple of "dry run" tests, and it works great! It is extremely quiet which is a real plus. The thermometer seems a tad "ify" and didn't really register all that accurately during my tests, but otherwise the product worked well. It seems well constructed and stable and looks like it will last a long time. Assuming it ever gets cold again in Texas, I will put it use. ... show more

Attractive compact design. Very quiet, in fact, no sound at all, once it got going. At first I did not think it was going to work at all as the temperature on the stove increased. Then it suddenly kicked in about 15 minutes after I shut the stove down. It comes with a thermometer that affixes to the stove pipe. The instructions are not particularly helpful in terms of appropriate placement of the fan on top of the stove. They seem to suggest placing it off to the side. I ended up putting it where it seemed to make aesthetic and functional sense: in the center. Effectiveness? Difficult to say with the dead of winter having passed. Any assistance to move the warmed air into occupied space must be a good thing. ... show more
