This camera has WiFi and looks good, and performs even better. The recommended software app for this camera is available for free, on the Google Play store and is called ...." WiFi Camera (Viewer) by Shenzhen V SYS Technology Co. Ltd. The SSID name to use is called " Live DV " and the Password is 12345678. Use that with this camera and it will work well with viewing of your videos on your smart phone, laptop, notebook, or pc....all in RealTime....while you are using the camera....either on land, as in a dash cam configuration in your vehicle or underwater with the camera in its waterproof case. I found out that the camera does not work very well with Chromebooks.....the WiFi application is not very compatable with the Chrome OS. But it works great with the Android system and with most all Smart phones. This camera easily rivals much more expensive action cameras...like the $ 200-300. Go Pro models, and probably performs as well or better with other action cameras in the $ 50- 100. price range. I am sort of a Newbie with action cameras, but I have over 50 years of professional computer experience....starting in the USAF in 1963. So after much research and having tried some other action camera, I have concluded that this camera is a great little unit and perhaps " the best bang for your buck "...... when it comes to inexpensive cameras, I highly recommend it. The seller is also first rate, and will go out if his way, to make sure you are pleased with his items. All in all .... I highly recommend this action camera. And Amazon continues to be the very best company to do business with, with their very generous refund policy, and their " customer first" philosophy. First of all, you are buying a $25 action camera. If you keep that in mind and take the time to "use it" instead of just reading the manual + reviews, you will be impressed. Here is my take on the action camera: The very first issue I had was the format video is saved in: Uncompressed AVI The AVI is old school and takes up a lot of space on the tiny bit of allowed space: 32G (see specs) A 2 minute video in uncompressed AVI format using best resolution: 498M (1/2 a gig) A 2 minute video in uncompressed AVI format using next best 720 resolution: 244M (1/4 a gig) I have added a (shorten) video to this review. It was recorded at 720p. Not the best quality but totally acceptable for the price point. Funny though, Amazon did not process the review AVI, I had to convert it to MP4 :) Another AVI issue... The APP is "just OK' and I added a few pics to review. You can control a few options but to me it was a waste of time. In a pinch you can watch videos on the cam via WIFI but forget controlling anything else. It bothered me the manual stated I need to turn on location. I did not and did not give the APP location permission. But the APP does work and was easy to setup, I bought to mount on a bicycle. Very limited options using the supplied mounting hardware but again, at this price point you have a pretty good selection. I needed to mount under the handlebars which made the video upside down. There is a "rotate" option in the menu but right now having mixed results. First test, I rode my bike for about 45 minutes. Since I set the continuous video recording for 2 minutes for each video, there are 23 videos on my SD card. Each 2 minute video at 720p resolution was around 240M. 23 videos X 234M was around 5.5G. Double that for best resolution and that is about 11G for 45 minutes of recording. Overall, if you need a basic entry level action camera, I recommend this one. I am impressed the kit can even be sold for $25, but this does not mean they should charge more! ... show more

Literally Doesn't Work

Doesn't work at all. AVI videos are just a video of a single still image. No instructions on how to change any settings in the camera's user interface because there's only four buttons and you can only choose to mute or unmute the video. Lost a whole epic caving adventure because of this. Reformatted the card just in case it was something I did, but not now it's not even accepting a brand-new micro 32GB SD card formatted in exFAT, or ANY other formatting available through Mac IOS (there's only four options and none of them are now accepted into the camera). Unfortunately I put together these problems were the camera's fault after the return window closed so I'm just out of pocket for this now. Extremely disappointing, this is now three caving trips that were not captured because of this camera. ... show more

You should have $20 expectations

This is a copy of the original SJ4000. (chinese GoPro knock-off) I have a couple of them already along with many batteries. The new generation of the SJ4000 has different batteries, does 4k, and is approximately twice the cost as this one. I use these for riskier applications & for my kids to play with so they leave my nicer stuff alone. This "1080p" camera produces footage that doesn't quite have that 1080p visual quality unless the lighting is perfect and you're capturing slow moving objects. Poor lighting and fast movement gives "world's first digital camera" vibes. I don't have any problem with the AVI files. I use the CapCut PC app and it treats them like any other Mp4 file. My favorite thing about this camera is that it starts up very quick. Only a split second of loading time & you can press record immediately. (if you turn it off in video mode) None of my MUCH more expensive action cameras can compare. The only thing that I don't like about these cameras is the 32GB max for the SD card, but I have many of these cameras & 32GB cards so I'm used to it by now. The accessories are an added bonus but there's nothing groundbreaking there, just basic stuff that can be moderately helpful at times. It's a $20 action camera. Have $20 expectations. ... show more
