While this bag holds quite a bit, I don't think it would hold 30 cans. Maybe 24 cans, but that would leave no room for ice. Also, if I did fill it up, I would worry about the straps coming off. There is nothing to stop the strap from pulling all the way through and out of the plastic piece that lets you adjust the length. I never carry that many drinks, but the things I do carry don't weigh as much. Even then, the left strap loosens for no apparent reason. Overall this bag is great, I don't mean to come off as bashing it totally. It works for how I use it and I am glad I bought it. ... show more

This is perfect for a trip with the family. Can keep alot of drinks nice and cool for all family when needed. Also it’s not so big that it takes up a lot of space. Pretty much abiut as much space 30 cans of drink would take up, but they are stay nice and cold for a 12 hour trip from one place to another. Really is helpful when on those family trips so you not spending more on drinks from a convenience store. Very handy cooler bag. Since I have had one for the family I got this one for a good friend who likes to have a cold drink handy at all times. Since he works outside he always looking for a nice cold drink regardless what his drink may be at the time. He says he is definitely appreciative of this bag and thanks me for it when I see him cause it does exactly what it says it does. It keeps his stuff cold. He used to use a regular school type book bag that didn’t keep any thing cold and if he put ice in it or ice packs it just made a mess since it would just melt and soak that old bag of his. This new bag cooler he can put just his drinks in there and the cold drinks will stay cold to cool for a little time but he add some ice packs or ice to it and his drinks are now good to stay cold almost all day in the summer heat. And it’s not dripping water out the bag either as the ice would melt like his old bag would. So this bag and type of bag has not only done my family well an made a good friend very happy so I’d say this is a good buy ... show more

It works well as a cooler and a backpack. Two functions in one. It's a nice size, both as a cooler and as a handy backpack that's not too big. I love the color and design. The net pockets are nice for wet water bottles. The front pocket consists of two compartments for thin items such as napkins and silverware (or a tablet, paperwork, etc.). This is a "decent" made cooler back with average build quality and average ice retention. The size is probably suitable for 4 to 6 people if you were packing drinks and lunches. It has one large cooler area, a mesh pocket on each side, a deep zippered pocket, and a folded flap covered deep buckled pocket. The straps are adjustable and the straps are sufficiently padded. The inner lining is waterproof (it never showed signs of leaking in my testing), but it's a bit thin and might tear easily if something sharp comes in contact with it. I tested this backpack cooler on one of my typical Wednesdays (mountain biking Ride after work). I packed the cooler with two 28oz bottles of Powerade and one 16oz bottle of Body Armor. I then placed two ice packs alongside the bottles and added ice up to the necks of the bottles. It's September in west-central Pennsylvania, so it's no longer hot out for a proper test of ice retention. In my testing the cooler sat in +/- 70º F temps. The cooler was packed at 7:10am and photos show the ice retention at 11:14am, 1:13pm, 4:33pm, 5:39pm, 9:23pm, and 11:22pm. As seen in the photos, there was still ice at 11:22pm - over 16 hours later. I would venture to guess that in hotter outdoor temps the ice retention would be more like 8 hours. All in all I'd say this cooler is a good buy at it's $30 pricepoint. It won't live up to higher end coolers, but it also doesn't come with a higher end price tag. ... show more

I used it to my son's baseball game. Noticed that when we left it in the back seat sitting upright, it leaking all over my back seat. Left an ugly smell that I had to get a detail on it to remove the smell. I bought 2 of them, other one leaked as well.

This backpack works well as a cooler. I took it on a couple of work trips and used it to carry some drinks and snacks. On one of the trips, I also brought along an icepack to "refrigerate" some food. After about 10 hours inside at temps around 75 degrees F, the ice pack was still partially frozen and the food was still cool. I did not try to put ice directly inside the bag but it seems thick enough to make sure it won't leak when it melts. I took this backpack on a 3 hour hike and wore it on my back the entire time. About a couple of hours into the hike, I did feel the straps digging into my shoulder a bit, but it's probably because I was carrying too much stuff. There is some padding on the straps, so overall, it was comfortable enough to not be a bother on the hike. I do like the extra two exterior pockets, one is an "open" pocket under the front flap and not accessible unless you open the two buckles and lift up the flap. The other one is zippered and is easily accessible. I also like the two side mesh pockets for carrying water bottles. The top loop is relatively thin and not the best for carrying the backpack. This item might be the weak point. Otherwise, the pack is relatively thick and decently made. ... show more
