its a true Microsoft controller and you can feel it is authentic...the red is very very nice, but if you get a rechargeable bat pack and stand to charge the battery is black so i wrapped mine in red carbon fiber since i found some vynal wrap for like 6 bucks on amazon than cut the edges with an exacto blade the red is a darker red ALMOST like a burgundy its not candy red or anythign but i love mine ... show more

This is my 2nd one. This is the PC compatible version and it works fine with all supported games. The only grief for me is that it doesn't have a battery level monitor. When the batteries get low, the game stutters, gets frame-rate issues, you experience a weird freeze (cannot control), then it reconnects and you are not sure if your PC is dying a horrible death, your game just got messed up, or your controller ran out of battery. The first time it happened it really freaked me out. Other than that it is perfect. I still prefer the symmetric nature of the PS3/4 controller, but PC support for those is a pain, so I just went with the XBOX. ... show more

Can't go wrong with this controller for use on PC, tablet or phones that connect controllers via bluetooth. Ergonomic and we'll machined buttons. Great for use playing Steam and GOG games with controller support. Wish batteries were rechargable. The color is amazing as is build quality. Huge step up from using a PS3 or XBox 360 controller with your PC. Also of course this is an Xbox One controller so you can definitely use it withthatif you own one. Highly recommended. ... show more

I am not a fan of the new D Pad on the newest Xbox controllers. It's hard to find one with the classic D Pad anymore and this one does. This color is also a huge plus. This to me is the gold standard of Xbox controllers.

They don't make any DECENT quality knockoffs of these controllers, so you are rather forced to buy the OVERLY EXPENSIVE Xbox One controllers. This particular controller is attractive and I bought it for the sole purposes of replacing a wired Xbox One controller to use with Windows 10. The bluetooth works for Windows 10, but if anyone is wondering if they need a dongle, you don't unless you plan on using more than one controller. However, in order for you to not have to pair this every time you intend on connecting you need to download the Microsoft Xbox Accessories App from the MS store. Once you install it all you have to do is power the controller up while your BT is enabled and it'll connect in a second. Price including shipping came out to $87!!! That's almost half the cost of a console that INCLUDES a controller... -1 star. If this thing starts to have the dreaded stick drift or any other malfunctions over the course of owning it I'll update my review. ... show more

    • Not Perfect, but not Amazons fault
Price was reasonable for a custome color controller. Shipping was fast and product as advertised. It would have been perfect, except the D pad on the controller was broken. It appeared new in the box, so I can’t fault Amazon. While replacement might have been faster through Amazon, I felt it appropriate to send it to Microsoft for warranty replacement. This way I get back a working controller and no one gets this broken one in their hands off as an unknown defective return. Looking forward to getting the replacement is the feel and grip are much improved from my originals. ... show more

    • It's a Microsoft controller. What else is needed?
I've had a couple of these controllers. The original ones didn't last that long, but the new generation seem to be much better quality. I've purchased two others that we have been using for a few years now. This one is for my son to use with his computer (some games just don't work as well on keyboard/mouse).
