I made the mistake of not reading all the information before purchasing. I did not see the part where it said it just comes with an SD Composite cable. Make sure that you also order an HDMI cable along with this console (that is, if you're not playing this on a toaster). Got this to replace my older Xbox 360 Elite model, since I finally got tired of it making loud grinding noises and sounding like a jet engine when playing off of a disc. This version works wonders. The console is extremely quiet. I can hardly hear it when playing a game off of a disc. If you install the game to the hard drive, the console is completely silent. I should also mention that the 4GB memory that comes with the xbox itself is pitiful. Pretty much all AAA games you buy require 6GB+ of space, so don't expect to do anything with it other than playing off of a disc and using the storage for saved games ONLY (no DLC). I'd recommend buying the 500 GB hard drive (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HDFD3U4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). It's super easy to install, and you can use it AND the internal 4GB. One last thing I should mention, the console comes with some demos for a few Arcade titles, so to maximize the room (if you don't intend on buying the hard drive), you might want to delete this completely from the console. (Side note: I think one of the funnest demos on there is RISK: Factions, but you can no longer purchase it on the XBL Arcade. Go figure.)

I'm hoping people who buy this realize how useless 4GB is. Don't get me wrong, the console is great, and the redesign looks stylish and is the quietest, lowest-power-consuming Xbox 360 yet. But I bought one of these along with a 320GB hard drive. The 4GB comes from the factory filled with some bloatware (arcade game trials) and the full version of the Hexic arcade game. But even if you delete all of this, you are left with FAR less than 4GB. That's not even enough to download a single full retail game; not even close. If you want to take advantage of the free Games for Gold (if you have a Gold subscription), good luck downloading any of those games. If you want to use the cloud game saves feature, well that takes up half a gigabyte to activate too. Even if you download nothing, some games download fairly large updates just to be playable at all. Your 4GB will easily be eaten up by any of these things. Unless you plan on buying this console only for non-gaming purposes, like using the Amazon/Netflix/Hulu/etc apps, or only playing very small Xbox Live Arcade games, you NEED to buy a hard drive with this. Or just buy the one that includes the hard drive. But for me, 250GB wasn't enough on my Xbox 360 S, so I bought this 4GB along with the 320GB hard drive. Now, other than the hard drive space, here's what I think about this compared to the previous Xbox 360 designs. - Quietest design yet. I can't say for sure if it is quieter than the 360 S though or just tied, since both designs are nearly silent and I can't hear them at all when any sound is coming from my speakers. I could easily hear my launch 360's fans over my speakers, even when they were playing something relatively loud. - The power brick is the same size as the S, but smaller than the original - The power brick is not interchangeable with any other 360 designs, since the connector on the 360 is a small round one instead of the fairly large semi-rectangular ones from the past - No optical audio out. This would have been a problem for me until I upgraded my AV receiver, which has all the HDMI switching capabilities I need. If you currently use optical out to pass your surround sound, and don't have an HDMI-switching AV receiver, be aware of this. - One less USB port (4 total) than the 360 S (which had 5). One more USB port than the original Xbox 360 (which had 3). Not a problem for many, but I think you can't have too many USB ports, and would have strongly preferred they didn't remove one of them. - Eject and power button are not touch-sensitive. You have to actually push the buttons in (I prefer this). Now the only serious thing I'm actually a little disappointed in compared to my launch 360 and 360 S (yes, I've purchased three 360s...), is something I haven't really heard anybody else mention yet. The green ring around the power button is either fully on, or off. You can't see what player(s) are connected by looking at the lit-up ring quadrants. Interestingly enough, my Xbox One is the same way, but the Xbox One controllers don't indicate which player it is either. I really liked having a way to see what players have their controllers connected. Not sure why they cut this feature. The design itself is quite nice, and matches my Xbox One quite well. But just like the Xbox One, half of it is a glossy surface, so you will need to be careful with it. Glossy consoles always age much worse than matte consoles, since they are easily scratched and scuffed, and show every last fingerprint. Keep it carefully dusted and don't put things on top of it if you want it to stay nice-looking for longer than a couple months. But the important thing is this final design of the 360 is solid, reliable, silent, and will not overheat on you like the original version. A very good redesign, especially when it is in close proximity to an Xbox One, since the designs complement each other well. BUT 4GB IS NOT ENOUGH! Hope I was clear on that. :)

Contents of the purchase: -Xbox 360 4gb console -Xbox AUX cords (yellow, red, white) -1 Month Free Xbox Live Gold -Xbox power brick -Xbox power cord -'00 Xbox games' (no games, no playing out of the box without an additional purchase. or you can make a purchase through the console = more $$$) I purchased this Xbox in March, and it has been nothing but flawless for me. I can say that having owned the original XBOX, followed by the first version of the X360, this particular Xbox does in fact run much much quieter. I did make a mistake however purchasing the 4 GB model thinking that because I am not a hardcore gamer that the memory would be sufficient. In fact, I went though a 4 and 16 GB memory stick in about two weeks. Furthermore, there are some games that REQUIRE a hard drive, NOT MEMORY STICK to download HD grapics. (ARMY OF TWO the devils cartel is the first game I discovered this on). I decided I had to by a hard drive that would have enough memory for a long time, and not just for the here and now. This may not have anything to do with the actual Xbox console, however it is very important to consider when purchasing, The ONLY hard drive that will play ORIGINAL Xbox games (including originals you can download and play through the Xbox market strait through your console) is an authentic Microsoft hard drive that for this console, ONLY comes in 250 GB ( now only available used, or though the purchase of a 250 GB console) and 320 GB ( around $130 MSRP) . Please be advised there are 100's literally 100's of impostors who sell what they call OEM, or Xbox 360 HDD or anything clever to get you to believe they are Microsoft, Including posting pictures of what the Microsoft product looks like, not what their actual product looks like. I was duped and purchased an impostor Hard drive, now it is an expensive paper weight. I now play all my games on an official Microsoft 320 GB hard drive that I am actually happy with. Not only will it play any and everything, I haven't even scratched the surface of how much memory it holds, and I've installed every game I own, as well as bought a few games from the Marketplace. Since upgrading the memory will be a necessity in almost all cases, I would strongly suggest purchasing the 250 GB Xbox model and not the 4 GB model. Most of the Xbox 360 250 GB models come in a bundle with 2 games, also with the "1 month Live Gold" and wireless controller, both models have the same console, including an HDMI output port, and built in wifi. If you consider the 4 GB model also does not come with a game, It will actually save you money in the long run purchasing the 250 GB model and cancel out the worry of needing more memory, or purchasing a game so you can play out of the box.

My original xBox died, so I came on Amazon to replace. I read everything carefully, planned to get a memory stick with this box, and expected this to work. I've had nothing but issues. It didn't work with my HDTV. I guess because I have a cheap, off brand TV, so I ordered the HDMI cable and hooked it up to my PC. Then I got picture but no sound, so I went to radio shack and bought an adapter so I could hook it up (using the AV cable do now I have to use two different cables) and I finally have both picture and sound! Great. Play Skyrim = disappointing graphics, slow, glitchy. Runs better on my PC. Try one of my original xbox games and it won't play. I get an error message that it won't play without an xbox hard drive. What!? No where in my research, no where, is this mentioned. The Amazon page itself says it's backwards compatible!! Everywhere I looked said some xbox original games are backwards compatible with xbox 360 (there are lists). What a waste of time and money. Seriously disappointed. The main reason I bought it was to play my original xbox games and a few new 360 that I was interested in. I'm not even sure I can return at this point. Really be aware of what you are buying. However much research you do, do more. UPDATE: I'm still trying to get this thing to work. I ordered a hard drive on Amazon that said it was compatible with this make/model. I had to plug in 3 times, do a restart and force an update, but I finally got the 360 E to recognize the inserted hard drive. However, it STILL won't play xbox original games as advertised! The full 250gb hard drive is required, which means another $60 on top of what I paid for the 4gb and smaller hard drive. Don't waste your time or money on this thing. Buy a 360 with a 250gb hard drive and be done with it. UPDATE: Now, to add insult to injury, I can't play Dragon Age Inquisition on the 4gb, even with the memory stick. It won't install. You have to have a 360 partitioned harddrive, same as the original xbox games issue I had. I can't play original xbox games and now I can't play new xbox 360 games. No where on the Dragon Age Inquisition page did it say it wouldn't install to a memory stick. What good is this 4gb? It's a complete waste of time and money as far as I can tell. Just a scam to get you to pay more for the hard drive when you can't play anything. Get the 250gb 360 and don't even bother with this. Seriously, what a scam.

Best Xbox360 I ever owned. Sadly it took Microsoft until the end of it's life cycle to finally get it right. Obviously Xbox360's are now old news and the XboxOne is the wave of the future for Microsoft fanboys. The first Xbox360 I ever owned was obviously the first body style. It was as loud as a jet engine, making it difficult to enjoy games without wearing headphones to hear what the bloody hell was going on. It got hotter than the Bluth Company's Corn Baller. And if you were one of those gamers that liked to binge play, you were bound to see the dreaded Red Ring of Death eventually. The Xbox360 E had none of those problems. It was whisper quiet to the point where you barely knew it was running at all. It was solid and built well. The CD-drive would open and close with the greatest of ease. It was like shutting the door of an Audi. A nice solid "thud" sound. The original sounded like you were shutting the door of a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix, never knowing when it would finally fall off the hinges. I bought this in conjunction with GTA V. I am more of a PC gamer and was upset when I heard GTA V wasn't coming out for PC but I knew that eventually Rockstar would release it for the new platforms and PC. I am just too damn impatient. I couldn't wait. I bought an aftermarket 120GB HD which was and easy plug-n-play. The only complaint I would have is the glossy finish. I still don't understand why electronic companies insist on using glossy finishes on their products. It get's scratched incredibly easily. It looks great when you open up the package and unwrap the product from the protective paper. Once you lay your grubby fingers on it - it just looks like sh**. Finger prints everywhere, scratches all over the thing. And that's just setting it up to play for the first time! Drives me mental! Give me a matte finish on this bad boy and it get's 5 stars. Recently traded it back to Amazon for almost twice as much as GameStop would have given me for it. Used that credit to pay for a brand new PS4. I can't thank Amazon enough for being a fantastic company and not bending their customers over.

Okay, I'm a middle-aged man, not "into" video games. I have taken up learning to play the guitar and progressing well. Then I read reviews on Rocksmith and figured I'd order it and see if it helps my progression. BUT, I didn't own a game console so I ordered this one. I must admit, very easy set-up, never looked at instructions and took me about 5 minutes to hook it up. I like it very much and just ordered our first "game" for my wife. I have no interest in video games but my wife does and will play this. I knew I did well when my son came over to the house last night to watch the Super Bowl with me, he's in college, living in the dorm and 19 years old. He noticed the xbox 360 IMMEDIATELY and asked where my games were.....he said I bought the best so I guess I made the right decision in purchasing this one. I guess I know what to buy my son for his Birthday in a month now as he has an older game console and wants one of these too. One more thing. I like the fact that this console "is that what you call them now?" can be displayed on my TV stand either upright or on it's side. They even have little rubber ends so it won't slide around whether you place it on it's side or upright. I guess I recommend buying this one and can't give it any less than 5 stars as I don't know anything about these. (My last game console was an Atari if that tells you how current I am)

Good for anyone just getting started and fantastic for anyone looking to replace an older model. Especially if you already have a hard drive. The 4GB HDD is built in, leaving the hard drive bay empty for expansion. Sadly, most of the space on the hard drive is already filled up with the operating system. By "most" I mean practically all. The design of it matches the look of the Xbox One, I was OCD enough to want matching systems! The size isn't much different than the Xbox 360 S. If you were hoping for something smaller, you're out of luck. It has fewer USB ports in the rear. But honestly, who uses them all? Another big difference is the power and eject buttons. Gone is the touch sensitive silver disk and eject functions. Real proper buttons! I'll take buttons over touch panels any day. Anyone that owns a cat will agree with me! System certainly runs quieter. I love that it puts out far less heat since it's stored in an entertainment center. The only drawback (other than the lack of hard drive space) is there's no longer an optical out. This didn't affect me as I never used it when I had the models that included it.

I've had Xbox 360 for over 7 years and love it. When my 360 Slim started acting up I got this 360 E and I am very happy with the upgrades. +I love the new form factor. I hated the big button I accidentally hit all the time for power. This looks more like a console under a TV and it works better too. +I love that I was able to take my 250 GB hard drive out of the S and put it in the E and have all my games and content right back where I wanted it. +I love the controller - it's a little more grippy than the fully slick black controllers that came with the S. Same size and everything but it feels different. More matte than gloss. I did lose a couple files in the transfer but they were minor and I can't say they werent messed up prior to the transfer. Overall, this is a big upgrade. Plus the additional warranty (and SquareTrade warranty, which is awesome!) keeps my minds off problems for a few more years. Highly recommended for those looking for a new console or a refresh.
