I use this all the time playing Latin, Brazilian, West African, etc. music. It has nice tonality and cuts. It's another "color" drummers and percussionists can alternate with between bells, rims, cymbals, etc. I have 2 of these. They come in a variety of woods and colors. Good value for the money.

I was skeptical about buying this product not sure if it was going to sound like they sounded in the videos. I was wrong the sound really produces out nice and crisp. I purchased two more for my other two snare drums.

It’s a great product but just not for me, it’s no that I don’t need it, I use black hole mesh head covers so it doesn’t work. But it has a nice sound when I tried it for a good price and perfect size for most drums.
