The item appears to work well. It has a great length. It has a notice that it is made with something known to the state of California to cause cancer, but does not state the material, and to wash hands after using it. An irritating statement. Good thing I don't live in California.

My kid got one of those tiny plastic ducks stuck in the defroster vents on the dashboard of my jeep. I couldn’t get it out for the life of me. I had already ordered another mechanical finger tool, and it was just not the right size. Mine shipped in a circle shape enclosed inside a plastic bag... which isn't that bad considering that one person in the reviews stated that his was bent in half to ship and it wouldn't ever straighten out correctly again. So, since there was no extreme bend at any point in mine, only a little working and bending in the opposite direction was needed to make the whole thing straight again. I've been using smaller, cheaper versions of this basic tool for years, but this one is much nicer. It is longer for more reach, the claws spread out a little more also, and it has a thicker cable and a more robust feel to it overall. This is the one that I wished I had all along!     • Came bent in half
This was difficult to get straight in order to use because it was packaged bent in half instead of being shipped in a tube. I managed with some difficulty to straighten it enough to use it. It seems to work as it should. Time will tell if this holds up.
