Description

The break resistant X-ACTO Teacher Pro Pencil Sharpener lets students spend less time sharpening and more time focusing on what matters. This electric pencil sharpener gets woodcase pencils to a precise tip, so there’s less lead breakage and less distractions in the classroom. The SmartStop feature prevents oversharpening by automatically shutting off the electric motor when a pencil reaches ideal sharpness, while a bold LED light lets students know when sharpening is complete. The auto-adjust dial works with all pencil sizes and makes sharpening less distracting while the slip-resistant bottom keeps the pencil sharpener steady. Finally, the SafeStart electric motor stops when the extra-large, easy-to-empty shavings bin is removed. It’s also compatible with colored pencils. Stay sharp with X-ACTO, the 1 electric pencil sharpener brand!

**Edit #2** After my last edit (and changing my 5 star review to 1) I was finally reached out to by another customer service employee. A replacement was sent to me and is working great (we'll see for how many months). **Edit** I've had this sharpener for about 5-6 months and it has stopped working. The SmartStop feature is triggered as soon as a pencil is put inside, so nothing gets sharpened. I contacted their customer support and explained what was happening. I was emailed troubleshooting about having the machine turn on, that is not my issue. I sent a response but have heard nothing back 20 days later. **** The SmartStop feature is great! In the past I've had problems with sharpeners eating away pencils when students shove them in. There has also been no issue of points being broken mid-sharpening. Our pencils are now lasting a lot longer! The large shavings bin is nice that you can let it be for a long time. I will say that it gets pencils crazy sharp, our coloring pencils are stored in cups and I've switched to having the pencils bottoms-up to avoid all the pokes when grabbing a certain color. ... show more

    • Every homeschooler should have this sharpener
Color: Black
A teacher friend had this on her back to school Amazon list, and so when my cheap pencil sharpener stopped working, I bought this bad boy. Oh man, I wasn’t expecting what came in the mail. I homeschool, and my kids looooove art. We have hundreds of colored pencils that are always dull. And my kids seem to constantly complain that they can’t find a regular pencil that is sharp. Well, that is no longer a problem. This sharpener has power behind it, think, “power tools power.” My 5 year old and I spent about 15 minutes straight sharpening our pencil stash, and this thing didn’t overheat or quit. It has an awesome set of lights which tell you when to take the pencil out (so my kids won’t sharpen a single pencil down to a nub for no reason). The shavings container is enormous so it won’t have to be continually emptied. And it also has suction cups for the feet so it doesn’t move around when you are sharpening. Seriously, if you homeschool, cyber school, or you or your kids just love art and use a lot of pencils, this sharpener is a great thing to have on hand. I’m so glad I spent a little extra $ on this one because I think it will likely be the last pencil sharpener I will ever buy. ... show more

    • This is the most amazing pencil sharpener I have ever used
Color: Black
I have been teaching for 16 years. One of my colleagues gifted me this sharpener for one of my classrooms. I loved it so much I got one for my other classroom at another school site. And then I got one to use at home. It is glorious! (Teachers will understand why I’m so excited about a pencils sharpener.) It even sharpens cheap pencils (think Jot brand from Dollar Tree) and colored pencils well! ❤️❤️❤️ ... show more

    • A teacher's dream pencil sharpener!
Color: Black
This is THE BEST pencil sharpener I've ever had. I've been an elementary school teacher for 12 years and I get so frustrated with the burnout rate of pencil sharpeners, or how they just don't get the pencils sharp sharp. I've already gotten 3 more of these for various purposes because not only is it the best, it's a great price for a heavy duty pencil sharpener. I have never allowed colored pencils in my electric sharpeners before this year, and now I'm not afraid to let the kids get their colored pencils nice and sharp because even if it burns out in a year, the price is unbeatable. I love how it stops when it's as sharp as it's going to get with a blue light indicator. It's as loud or quiet as any other pencil sharpener. The ONLY problem is the shavings tray does not stay put. So it slowly vibrates out of place as you sharpen and the sharpener will not work without it fully in place for safety. So I just put tape on the sides, problem solved. If you have a classroom, buy this. You won't be disappointed! ... show more

    • High quality, large footprint
Color: Black
Review Image by Christopher Bloome Christopher Bloome
I’ve been looking for a high quality pencil sharpener for quite some time. This great sharpener is powerful and easy to use. My only issue is that it’s SO BIG! definitely need some counter space, as it’s very large. Would work great for a classroom, as it has a high capacity container for shavings. Very nice. ... show more

    • A hit in my art classroom
Color: Black
My previous exacto electric sharpener put in a solid 5 years of service. I run a middle school art classroom and we go through mountains of pencils and colored pencils. This new one is very quiet and fully sharpens in a second or two. Excellent affordable choice

    • Doesn't overheat.
Color: Black
Very easy to use. Has not overheated since I've had it. It's huge though, very large shaving capacity. Very good quality. I haven't had cause to use the suction, but it definitely sticks to my desk. I've sharpened two, large, sets of colored pencils in one go, without even a hit of overheating or slowing. It's definitely pricey, but so far (I've had it a month and a half, maybe two months.) it has been worth it. ... show more
