Features

  • Command your home with your voice: when your hands are full or you just dont want to move, use your voice to turn things on and off by asking your smart Assistant. We made Wyze plug work with Alexa and the Google Assistant so its easier said and done.
  • Control your home from anywhere: check the status of all of your Wyze plugs and turn them on or off remotely so you can avoid high energy bills and fire-hazards.
  • On when you need it, off when you dont: Wake Up to the smell of fresh brewed Coffee in the morning with scheduling in the Wyze app. Custom scheduling in the Wyze app lets you turn Wyze plug on or off at specific times of the day so you can have your Coffee start at 6: 00 AM and turn off at 6: 15 AM.
  • Manage an entire room with grouping: grouping in the Wyze app lets you connect multiple Wyze plugs to one room so you can turn everything on or off at once at the tap of a finger or command to your smart Assistant.
  • Vacation mode makes it look like someones home: vacation mode can turn your stuff on and off at random making it appear youre home so people think twice about coming over uninvited. Automate actions with Wyze sense: use Wyze sense to control your stuff based on motion and open/close events so things turn on when people are around and off when theyre gone. Connects to other smart home devices with IFTTT.

  • Zero Alexa stars
Style: Indoor Smart Plug 2-Pack
This review is not on the wyze plug which works wonderfully within its own app. This review is on the use of the Alexa service that should work with this device but never has even once. Bought these because they were supposed to work with Alexa. Set them up per instructions and the wyze app finds them every time no problem. Functions well within wyze app and is very responsive. However the Alexa app CAN find the device initially but immediately states the device is unresponsive. When asking Alexa to discover the wyze plug it states no device was found. When asking Alexa to turn on/off the plug with the name given on the device list in the Alexa app, Alexa responds with I can’t find a device with that name. Plug is always listed as unresponsive in the Alexa device list even when it works EXACTLY as promised in the wyze app. I bought these to use with Alexa and not pull out a phone and open an app and push a button. It’s faster to use a switch than use the phone. Come on Amazon!! What is the deal!! ... show more

  • Nice concept, but incorrect amp rating.
Style: Indoor Smart Plug 2-Pack
Very easy to install and use, but definitely NOT capable of 15 amps as advertised. I had a 12-amp draw on this plug and I noticed that the plastic is starting to melt. This could have been very dangerous if I hadn’t noticed. So, if you have low powered devices, you should be fine. Above 10 amps, beware and check the plug often. ... show more

  • Actually really very cool (and useful)
Style: Indoor Smart Plug 2-Pack
Each little plug has its own MAC address and internet connection. You connect them to your home Wi-Fi (you have a home Wi-Fi, right?) and then you can control the plugs with Alexa or via a Wyze phone app. This allows you to turn anything plugged into the plug on and off. The thing I like is that the plugs don't require a commitment to some sort of controller box because they each connect directly to your Wi-Fi. You have to be careful, however, when you configure the little suckers that you make sure to configure them to work on the 2.4GHz side of your Wi-Fi and not the 5GHz side. The problem is that your phone may be set up to work on the 5GHz and when you try to use your phone to set up the plug, the plug will be unhappy. Secret: Connect your phone to the 2.4GHz (temporarily), set up the plug, and then put your phone back on the 5GHz side. Note also that the plugs (along with all other Wyze products) reach back into the cloud to Wyze-landia in order to receive instructions from your phone app. This means in the unlikely event that Wyze, as a company, goes belly up your Wyze thinggies will be toast. • Great value, easy setup, great customer service
Style: Indoor Smart Plug 2-Pack
I bought these plugs as I already had a Wyze camera to monitor our 3d printer and wanted a "kill switch" for the printer in the event something goes wrong that we see on the camera if we're away. It easily connected to the app and was simple to setup. Hopefully this plug is not going to be needed often but it definitely works as intended. Also we have an extra plug for the same price as most single smart plugs. Excellent value! Update: 10/18/19: our second plug was defective and would not properly set up. I contacted Wyze through their app and after several emails, they agreed to send a new plug at no charge. The new plug arrived today and hooked up just as easily as the first plug. They have great, prompt customer service! ... show more

  • Good value, great App but not the easiest to connect.
Style: Indoor Smart Plug 2-Pack
Having connectivity issues with plugs. Have 3 that work and 7 cameras. Text chat sucks and CS doesn’t return messages. Cameras are good. Customer Tech help, stinks. Update: Tech support called back and walked me through the network issues. All plugs work. Suggest they add support on weekends.

  • I love these things! Especially great for Christmas lights that don't have switches.
Style: Indoor Smart Plug 2-Pack
I've just placed my third order for the 2-pack of these. I'm using four of the plugs and I just ordered more for a gift. They will be especially convenient for turning my Christmas lights on and off, but they also work for any device that will come on when the power to it is simply turned on. You can set them up in groups so that all your Christmas lights come on without having to individually turn them one one by one. I use Alexa to control my plugs, but they can also be controlled through the phone app. They can also be timed or even set to a random on/off vacation mode. They are super-easy to set up using the Wyze phone app; no hub or anything else is needed. They have three prongs but almost all outlets now take three prongs, so that shouldn't be a problem. They are small enough that they don't block the second outlet as some smart plugs do. I also like the Wyze bulbs but these are more versatile. At ~$20 for two plugs, it's hard to go wrong. ... show more

  • Good alternative to each timers
Style: Indoor Smart Plug 2-Pack
I decided to try these as an upgrade over old school outlet timers. One on the coffee pot and one for a lamp. It’s fairly easy to setup but not immediately intuitive for non tech types. It requires using their app and it requires internet access. The app allows linking up Wyze sensors as triggers or setting any type of schedule. I guess IFTTT has some actions that can be used as well. But no Apple Homekit integration and that’s for all Wyze to date. I believe they do work with Alexa and google home. Basically once in the app, you can setup action, schedules and shortcuts. What I like is it’s easy to over ride the schedule by simply going to the app to turn on or off rather than reaching down behind a cabinet or table to reach a timer to manually hit the on off button, although these also have the physical button. For lamps, there is a vacation mode that I believe randomizes the on off schedule. It would be useful if they added a dusk to dawn function or allow selecting dusk and or dawn individually for lamp scheduling. What I don’t like is no ability to edit the WiFi setup without resetting and starting over and reliance on internet access. So far I’ve only had one failure to turn on when scheduled, not sure why. For the cost, it’s cheaper than a plug-in timer and offers 15amp capacity for things like coffee makers. Overall, I’d buy again but would like to see easier ability to edit WiFi setup and zero reliance on internet once setup. ... show more
