This sandal is a nice design, but get it at least a size down. I wear a 7.5 shoe. Had I known, I would have ordered a 6.5. This is an expensive shoe, for such a sizing gap. There is also no foot support whatsoever. The sole is as flat as a board. To add some volume, I will place an insole in the sandle, but at this price point, frankly, size and arch support should have been thought out better. In these shoes, my foot looks like a wobbly thing in an oversized basket, and the straps around the ankles make them look like hams. If this were genuine leather, I would have more hope for the look once the shoe breaks in. They say that they are made of raffia but they have a rubbery feel. The shoes would look better if they were tighter on the bottom and looser on the top. This sandal is a classic design. It reminds me of drawings in medieval manuscrips. When worn right, this is a very elegant look.

These gold-on-tan sandals are cute and stylish and the footbed is surprisingly soft with some additional padding not typical in sandals of this type. They easily accommodate a wide foot with the ability to conform without cutting in. The sizing is VERY large. I typically wear an 8 in tennis shoes for width and a 7.5 in sandals. 7.5 is a full inch too long. While they suggest sizing down a half size, I would have to size down at least 1 full size, which in a sandal that has no ability to tighten fit is problematic. The construction is decent, though they definitely will not hold up to more than light wear. The footbed/sole is exceptionally narrow in the middle and heel, but doesn't cause a problem with fit. The glue is visible and the construction quality is equal or lesser than cheap sandals from a discount department store. The claim that these sandals are made from raffia is highly questionable; they do not appear to be even slightly derived of natural materials. The upper, sole, footbed, and laces all appear to be synthetic/plastic materials. While the upper may be in raffia STYLE, it is not natural raffia. Honestly, if these sandals were priced in the $10-$15 range, I would have rated them a 4 or 5 aside from the dishonesty about materials; however, their overall quality definitely does not justify the current pricing.
