I have been trying to do more self care. Working on Tai chi and going to the acupuncturist. However I need to do some care on my own. I had never seen these before and thought I'd give them a try. I like the smell a lot. It is an earthy herbal smell. The green one is a little longer, I like the two different sizes. On the listing it gives some directions for use, but there is none included with the item. I have looked up additional meridian points on my own to use them on other areas like my shins and calfs. I thought well meridian points are centuries old so why not give them a try. I also like that they include a gua sha tool as a bonus. That works really well when I use it on my husbands forearm. He is a mechanic by trade and always has muscle tightness there from the nature of his work. For the price and quality this is a nice kit to have on hand for some self care. Easy to use on yourself or others. I am pleased with the massage hammers.

My mom asked me to buy her this massage hammer because all her fiends got one. I decided to buy a set so I can keep one for myself. It’s lightweight and meet my needs when I have shoulder pain. The hammer has Chinese herbal smell which makes me feel relax. The only complaint is the handle is a little bit short, I prefer longer so the hammer could reach my whole back. Anyway, I still like it.

This item is an attractive handmade cotton and twine covered massage hammer where the head contains wormwood, ginger, cassia seed and other ingredients. Included is a small gua sha, which I think may be polypropylene resin based, as it's not stone or ceramic. Also included is this nice reflexology poster. The packaging has an abundance of Chinese characters and no English, which makes it rather difficult for me to understand. The gua sha tool is a pretty standard version with curved edges to run over areas of the skin areas that need attention. The hammer can be used solo or with a partner, where you strike the areas that need attention and you get some idea of this in the product description. It's really another variety of massage technique. I find it really entertaining to do with my partner, but it becomes less serious that way for us. This is something that is taken seriously as non-traditional healthcare, like acupuncture is. I would recommend doing some research on how best to use this hammer and identify the benefits. I think this set would make a wonderful gift. The price point is reasonable. I really like the vibe of this product, I can't say that I've necessarily benefited from using it just yet, but I am learning more about these non-traditional approaches to improving ones health. I also think this item makes a great display and conversation piece.

A very nice set. These mallets come wrapped in beautiful silk and cotton patterns, very pretty. They seem to be good quality, however the handle of the green one is a bit flimsy. The definitely do the job. They smell wonderful. I'm a little confused about what herbal mixtures are inside the mallets, and I'm just curious about it. To me it smells like mugwort, but the listing says it is wormwood. The box has only Chinese and no English, but Google Translate comes up as both of those (mugwort, wormwood) at different times, so I'm still unsure. A few small things to note: the pink hammer didn't come with the tassel shown on the box, however the green one did. The gua sha tool that it comes with is made of some kind of resin (not stone). It is not flat like most gua sha tools, but more rounded.
