I threw out my back and was in an incredible amount of pain if I tried to bend in any direction. This little thing was a lifesaver. I didn't want to spend hundreds to go to the dr. and get scans and then chiro/PT, so I gave this and a back brace a try in hopes that it would make the pain manageable. It ABSOLUTELY worked and now my back pain is less than what it was before it completely gave out! Assembly does require some force after the first notch. The highest notch was pretty difficult the first few times I switched it, but I'm also 5'2", so that setting just made me feel like I was almost doing a complete back bend, but seemed okay for my 6' partner. I alternate between the lowest and middle notch. The spikes on it is not painful at all and provides some needed pressure. I think you can put in on your chair and use it that way. I've just been putting it on the floor and laying on it for 5-10 minutes at the beginning and end of the day. The first time I used it, my back cracked in about 12 different places which kind of scared the crap out of me but I immediately felt so much better. I'm honestly in love with this thing and I'm pretty picky and have commitment issues. And yes- that's absolutely ridiculous because it's literally just two pieces of plastic. Now just be mindful that I never found out why my back gave out so will this be as life changing for you as it was for me? I sure as heck can't tell you, but if my 2 cents are worth anything, I'd say it's worth a try. (I'm 100% not saying that this is an alternative to professional medical care and do not follow the example of someone who makes questionable decisions about her health)

Gives you a great stretch! Relieves the tightness/low back pain. A bit tough to put the pieces into place. The acupressure bumps on the device are sometimes a bit aggressive...but much more comfortable if I wear a thicker shirt when I lay on the device. There are 3 positions. I have only been able to get to the second position. Cannot imagine anyone needing the third most dramatic stretch! Takes a bit of practice and time to get up after an extensive stretch... but it does feel great as you relax and breath on the device. I hear my back pop as I breathe. Looks like it would work well in a chair or car seat as well.

You absolutely need to check with your chiropractor, spine doctor or family doctor before buying this device. Less than two days after using this device for only five (5) minutes, I had to go to the hospital with the worst pain in my back that I have experienced in a lot of years. I have degenerative disc disease in L4-L5 and L5-S1 and experience lower back pain on a regular basis and I thought this might help stretches the muscles out a little bit. I used this at about 5pm on a Tuesday for five (5) minutes on the lowest level, woke up on Wednesday with a little more back pain that lasted all day long and then on Thursday I felt pain like I haven't felt in a lot of years. I had to have a neighbor drive me to the hospital I was in so much pain. I am not saying that this device caused all that pain but it was pretty coincidental. If you are thinking about purchasing this device or a similar device please check with your doctor(s) before you do. This device was sent back to Amazon. March 13, 2019 Update: As I stand by my original review, that being you really need to check with your doctor, chiropractor or neurosurgeon before ordering this product. I updated my stars to three (3) because the seller did a good job to make sure I was satisfied.

I have been dealing with a long history of back pain since my injury in Iraq, 2002. This product works pretty well so far by allowing me to decompress my lower, mind and upper back through relaxation and natural gravity. I have been routinely getting massages every month for years to deal with the tension and pain in my cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions. Doctors have only recommended physical therapy and medications, both of which never did much other than complicate things with additional side effects. This is a medication free treatment device that is extremely cheap in comparison to other options I have tried. Overall I have been able to get better results with this option then other methods. I have been working on my back for over 18 years and this seems to be the missing last step. I would like to be up front though you have to expect some adjustment pains, I noted a significant increase in pain after vertebrae adjusted for 2 days, given I have had pain for so long though it was not that big a deal for me and something I was aware could happen due to past experience with different treatments. I hope my review will help someone out there finally get some relief by trying this product. I would say go slow, the basic first step for this product is more then enough of a curve to help the majority of people. I would say higher steps in the curve are for people with a great deal of flexibility, so pretty healthy spine people looking for additional flexibility. I can do the second step pretty easily now but don’t see the benefit as much as the lower step allows for great relaxation and depth for the pressure points. These hard points might be difficult to endure for sensitive people, but can also help one release thorough breathing exercises and relaxation.

A friend of mine has one, i liked it and wanted to get my own. Hers works fine, but the one I just bought in May of 2025 is clearly made of a different type of plastic. People less than 150 lbs lie back on the unit and the arched board collapses in all 3 settings. I can also collapse the board by simply pressing on it with the palm of my hand with moderate force. I will have to rig a block of some type to support the arch to prevent it from collapsing while in use, so obviously this is no longer a reliable product until the material quality is addressed.
