Feels solid and high quality. Has plenty of power so far with what I've tested. One thing that isn't mentioned is that you can change the bits with just one wrench while using the push button to lock in the other side, like more modern tools. They give you two wrenches but you shouldn't be needing to do that weird routine every bit change. I'm giving this 4 stars for now for the value. You get a plunge base and a bunch of attachments and some starter bits. I'd deduct a star for dust collection since it seems almost useless but I need to play with it a bit more. I've used this to cut a handful of test pieces and 3 long dado cuts for tracks and it made a mess and was slow going. I will deduct 1 star because of the odd shape and difficulty setting up a guide. The plunge base wants to rotate slightly even with 2 straight edges on both sides. This makes dado cuts somewhat wonky but not enough to visually see. I could tell after 3 long runs that some of the cuts had slightly snug spots. ... show more

The router works well but it does turn itself off pretty easily . I'm working with hardwoods ( oak, locust) & it is having problems. It works but I guess you just need to take more time. I have a 4.5 hp shopvac that i hooked up to the dust collection system & it does not collect much dust/shavings from router. I do have $50 flattening bit on it so the bits quality should not be a issue. ... show more
