My kids love climbing, and we wanted to find something different than the hanging ladder we have been using for them. This seems to be a good choice. The rope is definitely rougher than a ladder, but I mean...it's rope. The tarred endings are well covered, and the rope itself seems well made, it didn't come with any signs of fraying, rips, bends that couldn't be straightened, etc. It's not light, but not so heavy I would worry about mounting it into the beams in the ceiling, even with the added weight of my kids. This does not come with the hook to mount it however, which is why we have not yet hung it. It is advertised as indoor use only as well, which is fine. I do wish it had come with the hook, but looking back through the pictures and details, it does not actually state that it comes with the hook (or any type of storage bag) so I can't be too irritated.

I bought this for kids to climb rope in the basement. I was wondering if they could even wrap their hands around this thick rope but it's not a problem for kids to climb and I have no hesitation or reservation in the ability of it to hold an elephant. This is a really good value given how thick this rope is for the price. The only negative I have is the smell. This rope reeks like a mix of industrial chemicals and Chinese factory. I'd suggest letting the rope air out in the garage for a few days. Once you bring it in wipe it down with a mix of warm soapy water. Should be fine after that.

This is an impressive piece of heavy duty climbing/workout rope! The loop is professionally spliced and sealed with a shrink wrap liner so that it will never unravel. The ends are also shrink wrap sealed for longevity. Its been a while since I handled a true climbing rope so it was fun working out with this one. Highly recommend.

This heavy climbing rope functioned exactly as I had hoped—although I am using it not for climbing, but to support a rope swing's disk-shaped seat. The jute rope's thick 1.5-inch diameter is easy for hands of any size to securely and safely grip, comfortably and without slipping. I used a screw-pin shackle to connect the nylon thimble/sleeve at one end of the rope to a chain wrapped around a massive tree branch. At the rope's other end, I passed its heat-shrink and rubber sleeve and end-cap through my seat, and secured it in place with a knot and friction fitting. I'm sure it won't be long before folks get the idea of climbing the rope up into the tree above, but for know they are content to swing. This product exceeded my expectations, and I am very pleased to recommend it for your own use.
