There were 4 wooden puzzles. The pieces come bagged separately from the puzzle board and the picture of the puzzle doesn't fit inside the puzzle....but they are cute pictures. One of the puzzles was missing a piece. I emailed them on Christmas day and they responded fast that day even and shipped us out a new one. Great customer service to correct any problems. My daughter loves puzzles :)

Our child currently is exploring space, and absolutely loves these. He did several by himself after dinner. The pieces are nice and sturdy and the designs are vibrant and interesting. The sheets that show how the completed puzzle should look is very handy and allowed him to have a great guide. The puzzles each come in a wood frame and fit into the box nicely. The pieces fit tightly together they look great once completed. He is excited when he works on them, and it was a perfect accompaniment to the recent eclipse event. As a parent and space nerd myself, I appreciate the colorful designs and handy box to store them. Perfect gift for him.

My toddler loves puzzles. He has very simple ones from when he was much younger and we have been getting him more advanced ones. At 29 months these are too complicated to do alone but he will do one puzzle with adult help before getting bored. I do think he will grow to love these eventually and I look forward to playing with the puzzles with him. So far the puzzles haven't gotten damaged but as with any puzzle you have to be careful with them, so I can't imagine they are especially durable. I think these puzzles would work for 4/5 year olds and up.
