I wanted a light chair with a hard back (for my bad back) that I could take to the beach. This chair weighs half as much as other similar chairs so I was concerned about the quality. But, it seems to be good quality and it provides great support for my back. Some of the reviews said that it was hard to assemble but the instructions were clear and this is easy to assemble if you lay the parts out and go through the instructions carefully. Some of the reviews commented that the chair was not able to withstand the elements so I put two coats of a high quality teak oil on the chair and it turned out really nice. Expecting my first grandchild so ordered this for shower gift as parents have 2 on front porch they use daily. Instructions were easy to follow and YES, once you get to attaching back, you have to use a little muscle to line up, nothing crazy. Oh and the holes on the arms are too small for screws so make sure you have a drill bit to make bigger. I think it's cute as a button and so excited to give it. I think we are going to put a coat of poly just bc it will stay outside all year. Again, just love it. ... show more

The chair went together ok and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. Each part was marked but sometimes the markings were difficult to read. The wood is pretty soft and the finish is thin and pretty rough but I think the chair will last a few seasons. I used a drill with a Phillips bit and a #13 metric socket to assemble the chair. ... show more

The chair is pretty simple to assemble. The directions are simple to follow and you get the hang of it after you put one together. The holes for the back of the chair may not line the slats up perfectly, I discovered this the hard way. After putting the first chair together it looked deformed, the slats tilted to the right. My husband helped me fix it. I painted each piece before assembling. Its easier that way, then I separated them into groups that went together. It's not heavy, but not too light in weight. Overall I'm happy with this product, I look forward to using it this summer around our new firepit. A power drill is a must! ... show more

I am surprised these chairs lasted one summer. We would have been better off spending a little more money for something better made. My husband is not a small man, but he's not huge. He 's about 6'4" and weighs about 240 lbs. These chairs are NOT made for anyone over 160 lbs. The wood has cracked. The chair itself is now all crooked. As soon as the weather is a little cooler, it will end up being used as firewood. Be smarter than we were. Spend a little more money and buy something that is better quality. ... show more
