I bought and assembled four of the chairs to replace plastic ones around our firepit. They look much nicer and am pleased overall and do recommend them - with some caution. First, I did not have the problems some reviewers indicated. These are not expensive so don't expect craft an materials. The wood is soft and the paint is thin. You needn't be overly cautious but they wood can ding - and show dings - easily. The more troubling part is the manufacturer's quality control. Predrilled holes don't always align - it seems to be hit or miss. You can see that in the photos. I don't know how the boards are drilled but there were many and random misalignments. I used a power drill to drive the wood screws and, for some, a hammer drill to ensure a tight fit. I left the bolts placed at pivot points loose until all were in place then tightened. These are nice looking - enjoy them. Go slowly - the instructions are fine. But if predrilled holes don't align, work thoughtfully and will be well. ... show more

Absolutely terrible quality. No way is this a quality that could hold adults. I’m 110 pounds and it feels unsafe and unstable even for me. There’s no way my husband could sit on it. Plus one of the chairs holes lined up. The second was not even close. This is not preassembled to the point of just attaching large pieces. You are putting these together! If you need to return them, you are required to pay for shipping on the return which is more than the item total. USPS is over $100 to return because of oversized box and over weight. I ordered two sets of these chairs and 3 out of the four went together reasonably well. The fourth was a mess. The screw leader holes were in the wrong place, seat boards cut too long and then we were missing 4 bolt, washer & nut sets. As a result, boards started to split and we had to spend another $10+ on bolts, etc. Unfortunately we moved and I didn't get the last chair built before the return period ended. They’re a beautiful set & comfortable. It was labor intensive to assemble. You will need a drill. I found it challenging to put together, so if you’re a woman putting this set together (like me) I would make sure you have help so parts can be held together while you screw parts together. The other tip I have is when you have reached the screws limit, but you still need to drive it in deeper, back out the screw a little then try to drive it in again. I had to do that several times per screw otherwise it would not have gone together for me. Hope this advice will help you too. The final product is worth the labor.
