  • Great bat house
Style: Bat House Ⅱ Brown
The VIREESR Wooden Bat Houses for Outside are an excellent addition to any outdoor space! I recently purchased the Large Two Chamber Box, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. These bat houses are perfectly designed to attract bats, providing them with a safe and comfortable habitat while also offering valuable pest control benefits for your garden or yard. The construction of the bat house is top-notch, with durable wooden materials ensuring its longevity even in outdoor conditions. I was impressed by the attention to detail in the design, from the spacious chambers to the strategically placed entry holes that make it easy for bats to enter and exit. Installing the bat house was a breeze, thanks to the pre-drilled holes and included hardware for hanging. Within days of setting it up, I noticed bats moving in, which was incredibly rewarding to see. Not only are these bat houses functional, but they also add a rustic charm to my outdoor space. The brown color blends seamlessly with the natural surroundings, making it an attractive feature in my garden. Furthermore, I appreciate the eco-friendly nature of this product, as it promotes natural pest control without the need for harmful chemicals. It's a win-win situation for both bats and gardeners! Overall, I highly recommend the VIREESR Wooden Bat Houses for Outside to anyone looking to attract bats to their property while also enhancing the biodiversity of their outdoor environment. With its durable construction, thoughtful design, and easy installation, it's a fantastic investment for both the health of your garden and the conservation of these valuable nocturnal creatures. ... show more

  • I have always wanted to put up a bat box
Style: Bat House Ⅱ Black
I have always liked bats, even as a very young child. We recently moved to a very rural area and have some very old trees, both living and not, and quite a lot of rocky ledges and areas that would easily support roosting bats. As it has started to warm up we are beginning to see some bats flying around our home, and I am very excited!! So when I saw the bat box available I knew I had to get one. It has roughened notches for the bats feet to grab onto while they are roosting, although I am considering putting a netting or mesh inside also to help the bats to hang on. The box is large enough to hold quite a few bats. I'd say the numbers would depend on the sizes of the bats that decide to roost in the box. I'm not sure if we have multiple species or not, but we have noticed a size difference in some of the bats. Unfortunately there were no instructions included, so we're going to have to look online to find out all of the ins and outs of placement of a bat box. Such as how high it should be, and the best place to put the bat box, how close or far it should be to trees, what direction it should face, etc.... There is a small hanger on the back of the box, like you would find on a picture frame, but I don't think that will be very useful. An individual bat doesn't generally weigh all that much, but if you end up with a decent sized colony then the weight would be an issue I think. Plus the "hook" isn't attached in a fully upright position, and I don't think that would work well for hanging the box. There is a small hole at the bottom of the back piece of the box that could be used for a screw to help hold it up wherever it is placed, and that will no doubt help to secure the box when it is in place. I did see a small gap in the construction due to the pieces not being aligned properly. That could probably be corrected with a non-toxic sealant of some sort, I will look into that before we put the box up. Over all I like the box a lot. I will just make a couple of adjustments to make it as usable and as stable as possible. With any luck we will have residents in a year or two! I am including several photos, and between the photos and my review hopefully it will help others looking for a bat box. Be well I will update my review once we get the box put up and we get some residents. I can't really speak for the durability and stability until then. The box is painted or stained black, which is one of the most recommended colors for a bat box. There are air vents/slits on the sides which are supposed to help with air circulation. There are some requirements as to how high to hang/post the box, what direction it should ideally face. Do they require shade or full sun? How close to tree lines, etc.... Unfortunately the box did not come with any instructions, which is quite disappointing, especially considering the specific needs. Granted, the information is available on line, but it would be so much easier to have that information with the bat box instead of having to look it up from various websites! ... show more

  • My Bat B & B
Style: Bat House Ⅱ Brown
I never dreamed I’d be buying a house for bats! Well, I don’t want them living in my garage but I don’t want them gone, either. They eat 1000’s of mosquitoes and I don’t like mosquitoes at all. So, my compromise with the bats is that I’ll give them this nice bat-house to live in with a 24 hr skeeter buffet and in return they don’t “hang” in my garage or poop where I walk. I can hang the house in a nearby tree, not close but still close enough. I have more to read about where to hang specifically, like how much sun should it get, what part of a tree, water resources etc. This large two-chamber box is designed to attract them, so I’ll do what I need to in order to get that natural pest control on my acreage. The well made waterproof bat-house is 10” x 16” x 4 “, made of cedar wood stained brown and has 2 chambers that will house about 100 bats. That seems like a lot for the size of the house, but that’s what I’ve read. It is good looking, nice design and lightly ornate, so it does not need to be put out of sight. In fact, I hope my guest will take note of it. It should be OK in the elements and be easy to hang. It's a great way to support these important pollinators while adding a unique piece of decor to your garden or yard. ... show more

  • So far, so good
Style: Bat House Ⅱ Brown
The box itself is lightweight cedar, with a small picture bracket in back and a hole in the bottom for fastening. I just put it up, so I'll have to see what it attracts. I mounted this box on a 9' pressure-treated 4x4 I happened to have handy, and mounted the 4x4 on a sturdy fence-post ground spike, and erected the whole assembly under trees to protect it from direct sunlight. I also have a critter cam on a nearby tree to see what comes. I will update this review when I see more. Fly, my pretties, fly! ... show more
