Had purchased this fan for a Big Buddy heater that is the primary source of heat @ my off grid cabin. Saw a few YouTube videos that showed how to mount these really simple. I used a heavy gage wire that could hold the fan in place without being permanently mounted and wire not be warped by the heat. Laced the wire between the grill and it sets perfectly. This thing works way better than the fan that's inside the BB heater, no more batteries! It's quiet, effective and worth the price, very pleased with this purchase! I was reluctant to purchase this fan because of mixed reviews about its effectiveness with a propane heater. Reviews claimed it worked on Buddy heaters but struggled on the Olympian Wave. Went ahead and ordered and when it arrived fashioned a support bracket from peg-board hardware. Sure enough the performance was sketchy at best, and in fact, wouldn't spin on the low heat setting and barely on medium or high. I almost sent it back but thought I'd try one more option. I had 2x6x.5 in. copper stock from a previous project and placed it under the fan. Boom, stellar performance on the low heat setting that does a great job distributing heat in my office area. I used this product with a Portable Buddy heater. The quality of this product is EXCELLENT. It is VERY QUIET, almost silent. It moves more air than I expected. The clip works, but is not very sturdy. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
