Macy;s Place Wood Butter contains only 100% food grade white mineral oil and all natural beeswax. There are no other unnecessary additives. Regular application prevents splitting, cracking, and fraying for long lasting beauty of boards, spoons and butcher block surfaces. Just apply a thin layer of butter wax, let sit to absorb (overnight when possible) and remove with a clean dry paper towel or cotton rag. Its just that simple.

The composition is a butter soft wax that easily applied using just your thumb and fingers. Apply generously to new or refreshed smooth wood and allow to dry several hours or overnight before buffing to a very pleasing finish. I suggest two coats. I have some of the most beautiful wooden cutting boards and butcher block pieces but I haven't been able to fully embrace them because I couldn't find the right moisturizer for them. All the types I was using left a film or needed a ton of product to bring back the board from dullness to dazzle. This wood butter is perfect. I use very little, it soaks directly into the wood leaving a gorgeous, like new finish. I simply wipe a bit of it on with a paper towel and then buff it into the wood until it is completely absorbed into the wood leaving it nourished and healthy looking. This stuff saved my wooden spoons and 3 cutting boards that *somebody* put in the dishwasher. It also revitalized other wooden utensils and cutting boards that I'd put away because I didn't feel they were safe to use, but they were my grandmothers, so I couldn't get rid of them. Some light sanding, a bit of a scrub and rinse, and this wood butter has completely transformed them all. I literally cried. To be able to use an ancestors tool, safely and without worry, is incredibly special, and I'm so grateful to have found this product. It comes in a metal container, and you get quite a bit for the price point. I've used it on about 8 boards, 14 utensils, a small table, and a 4 top table, and still have 3/4 left. It spreads and buffs easily, and the quality of the butter is fantastic. When I eventually run out, I'll absolutely be purchasing more. 11/10 stars. ... show more

I bought a new Larchwood Cutting board and use this primary on that board but have also started to use on my older cutting boards which were bamboo. This product works well and really seems to refresh the older boards while absorbing well in the newer board for maximum protection. I use this butter for my knife handles every other week, and the wood really appreciates it. Coworkers have used it on wooden spoons and boards, all of which appreciated it. It's easy to use and it doesn't leave any scents behind.
