Okay let me just say that this is not ONLY useful for a crib. I came across this item by accident and as SOON as I saw it, I had a vision! My niece loves to read, she is the oldest (6 years old) and she has 3 other younger siblings. Sometimes she just wants to have her time and space from the little ones. I got this for her so that she can have a little reading nook in the corner of her bedroom. With a little side table, a bean bag chair (or saucer chair) and a small book shelf… a couple of twinkle lights and a reading lamp… transformed her little area to a cozy space where she can relax, dim out the sounds and curtain off the distractions… and plant her face into her favorite books. She was thrilled to come home from school to such a special little spot and let me tell you, R&R and quiet personal time are so important in life, it is imperative that we learn this at a young age because it will lead to healthy adulthood. Obviously reading is one of the best things you can encourage your children to enjoy as well. What better way then to make it an atmosphere that they are excited to be in? Again, this would be great for a crib as well but you can get creative with this. It’s very versatile. Now for quality, love the color and pattern. Very well made, nice solid seams. This is a lovely little accent piece that adds a bit of warmth, coziness and mystique to any area. It's not heavy at all, it's easy to hang from even a fragile ceiling and it's both translucent enough AND opaque enough to add a bit of separation within the room. It's a good size and the quality of the fabric allows for draping, tying back or modifying however you'd need. Super easy to hang up or pull down and the fabric is much nicer than I expected. This is seriously the cutest little canopy/tent! It is gender neutral as can be. The colors are so pretty and give a vintage feel with the gingham design. I am obsessed with this and the high quality tops it off. If I could give this 100 stars I would! It’s got that boho/Scandinavian style that is so precious in kids’ rooms! It’s long enough to fit on high ceiling rooms, but also looks great draped with excess on the floor. It was easy to set up but do be careful when opening the wire insert, as it is coiled tight and quickly snaps apart! It functions as a reading nook, bed canopy or just a fun play tent.
