I know these are probably intended for auto detailing but I got these to polish my guitars and to try to remove small scratches. A couple of my guitars do not have pick guards and over the years you can develop thousands of very small scratches from strumming. I also have one guitar that developed a buildup of wax from polishing for 40 years. I read that Meguiars Scratch X automobile scratch remover could be used on guitars so I decided to try it. At first I tried just using micro cloths but it was taking quite a bit of work. When I saw these pads that could be attched to a drill I thought it might work. There are 5 different colors of foam pads included as well as 2 polishing wool-like pads and 2 of the attachments to hold the pads. The set comes with no instructions. The system is pretty self-explanatory but it would be nice to know the order of coarseness for the pads and if they correlate with any particular sandpaper grades. You can get some idea just by squeezing the pads to see which are the softest. I think these come in a 5 inch and a 3 inch size. I had the 3 inch pads which were still a little big for my use. It would be nice if they also had a 1 inch size. The pads attach to the base with a Velcro type material. It worked very well and I didn't have any problem with any of the pads falling off, yet they were easy to remove when finished. I was worried that using the pads with a battery powered drill would be awkward but it was not. Overall I would say that everything worked really well. I just deducted one star for the lack of information about the pads themselves. One final thought; if you plan to use these on something small like a guitar you need to be careful with the Velcro attachments. The pads themselves are very soft but the Velcro part is stiff (as you would expect) and could do some damage if the edge came into contact with something. If you use this on a guitar, try it on the back first in case there is a problem.

This bundle has a variety of polishing pads. This is great for cutting, polishing, and waxing. I have been using it to polish vehicle headlights. The small size is perfect for the job and ensures you stay on the area you are working on. The foam pads are very durable. I have used the same pads several times taking off and putting back on to the Velcro padding. I have had no issues with the foam pads separating from one another or breaking apart. This is a good quality foam pads that will get the job done. This uses a hook and loop system, where the backing pad uses Velcro's to attach to the polishing pads. Its 3 inch in diameter and is the perfect size for detailing work. The arbor will attach to any drill and is perfect if you do not have a dedicated polisher. This bundle will last you a good while, it comes with 2 backing pads and a variety of polishing pads. This is a great set for small polishing jobs.
