It is made of cotton canvas which is quite thick. It has 2 slip pockets and 1 zipped pocket inside and 1 zipped pocket on the trolley sleeve. The gold metal hardware and lobster claws on the black and white striped version seem strong and the handles securely attached with X stitching. There are lobster claws on either side of the bag near the zipper which attach to rings (they are the same used to attach the long strap) in order to lower the profile slightly. The zipper is plastic. The shoe compartment on the bottom interior's measurements are 17 in long x 9 in wide x 3 in high and probably more suitable for womens shoes 2 pairs up to size 9 and maybe a pair of flip flops on the side depending on type and sizes. It will not hold as many mens shoes depending again on type and size.The bag appears to be quite sturdy although due to the fabric construction it tends to collapse when empty. It is a bit heavy for a fabric bag about 4-1/2 lbs empty including the long strap. So far a good buy it remains to be seen how well it holds up after use.

Was very skeptical since it was relatively inexpensive. I was looking for a bag that would hold a good amount of stuff that I could put on my carryon bag and fit under the seat on the airplane. So thrilled with this bag! I thought with the zip compartment on the bottom it would hold less on top but it holds so much stuff! Couldn’t be happier with a personal item for plane trips that holds so much! I purchased special pouches for organization since it does lack that inside the bag. Could easily hold two pairs of shoes in the zippered compartment if needed. I just completed a trip and inside this bag as well as the zippered compartment I packed a blanket for the plane, socks, a packable raincoat, travel umbrella, a book, small purse, ipad, small pouch for charges etc, a small pouch of personal items, another small pouch of miscellaneous items, a belt, and still managed to fit a sweater in. Great if you are looking to maximize your personal item space when carrying on your luggage. The black canvas strips with black leather accents looks nice. It does not look cheap and seems well made.

This is a medium sized bag. It claims to be waterproof, but the inside is a soft fabric, and the top is a canvas that is clearly not completely stain resistant (if you look to the lower right handle of the bag, there is a smallish light brown stain). The bottom part of the bag is made of a waterproof leather, so its great for shoes. I havent tried washing it, so im not sure how that stain would come out. I assume some canvas shoe cleaner and good scrub might work. Overall, it is a really nice weekender bag for any trip.

Package arrived on time and I opened it right up to smell the bag, based on other reviews. No odor - no smell of any kind. There is a tiny desiccant pack inside. Bag was folded and wrapped tightly in plastic - creased when I opened it. But I packed the bag right away, stuffing the main section with packing cubes and toiletry bag, and stuffing the shoe compartment. I hung it by the handles in hopes that creases relax out. The designers of this bag did a great job. I'm impressed. I ordered black. The gold hardware gleams. The pockets are useful - 3 inside and one outside in the trolley sleeve. The handles look sturdy and the adjustable shoulder strap has plenty of holes for any length. The lobster claw clasps at each end of the zipper are a nice touch. Plus the 4 outside zipper pulls have holes large enough for a small lock! The shoe compartment was big enough for my knee bolster pillow PLUS 3 pairs of flat shoes (size 11)! Also put flat gallon baggies and a couple of flattened plastic grocery bags... Only wish the lining was light color, not black... I'll update this after my next trip to rate the sturdiness and durability if it's not a 5 star. I bought this for overnight/weekend road trip travel to complement my tiny Samsonite business underseat roller bag. I love it!

Love this bag. It is a great weekend bag. A lot of room in the main compartment and enough space for 2 pairs of shoes in the bottom zipper compartment. I also like that it has a strap to slide over a suitcase handle when flying. I have only traveled with it 1 time but it seems very sturdy and easy to clean.

A bit indifferent about how I feel about this bag. It is HUGE, which is very nice, but almost too big. I bought this for a recent trip, filled it up, and intended to use as a second carry-on. It really didn't fit under the seat in front of me and was a bit uncomfortable to have squished next to my legs. It does slide on nicely over a suitcase, but only really fits in an overhead bin. The bottom portion unzips for shoes or other items, but I would have preferred a much sturdier base. If you don't have that section filled up the bag looks quite slouchy and awkward.

Not quite as neat as a structured carry on or case, but it is attractive, lightweight, roomy and versatile. Fits easily under the seat when flying or on the footrest in business or first class. Held my snorkeling equipment and a towel for the beach. It’s getting lots of use
