These pants were…interesting. Not used to wearing non-high waisted pants, but at least these don’t gape in the back when I squat! Not sure if these will be comfy to sit in for more than an hour or so. They’re also decently fitted so probably wouldn’t fit any thick fleece leggings underneath. Came with a broken zipper in one pocket. The thick pockets are an obnoxiously thick seam that is rather uncomfortable as I can feel it on my thigh.

I really liked the cut/fit of these pants. But they really weren’t breathable enough for me. My legs felt sweaty and hot just trying them on. I ended up returning them. However, I don’t ski or anything, so I can imagine how they might be good for that, where being waterproof might be more important than being breathable. I don’t think they’re bad pants per se, but I need more breathability.

I ordered these for a trip to the NE where I expected rain and cold. It never rained and didn’t get below the high 40’s, even though it is late Oct.!!! So I can’t attest to the waterproof aspect. I will say these fit like a glove and the lining makes them toasty warm. I love the pleats in the knees that open up if you kneel- otherwise they are not noticeable. Pockets are lined with a thin but durable fabric so are not bulky and the zippers work smoothly. The short elastic expander in the waist allows some give without being obvious. The fabric is nice and doesn’t wrinkle. I washed them before wearing and they did not shrink. I did line dry as stated on the washing tag. The cut is a nice straight leg. For reference I am 5’-8” and 160# and bought a large. I could fit a pair of leggings under them easily.

When I read the reviews, the sizing guidelines were all over the map with many saying these were too large! I would agree that these seem to be cut and sized much more like men's pants. Size 28 is quite slim fitting and fits similar to a women's US size 2-4 skinny jean. If you are shorter than about 5'6" you would probably find the legs too long. These do not sit at my waist and are more like hip huggers. The belt drove me nuts until I realized that I needed to cut off the plastic cap covering the loose end of the belt so that I could unthread the belt to put it through the pants. Since most of the belt was made of polyester, I could fuse the cut end with a lighter. While they are a bit tighter than I would like, they are nice pants!

I ordered two pairs in different colors, both in the small size. The blue pair is one inch longer from crotch to waist than the green pair. The green pair is about 2 inches longer in leg length than the blue pair. The green pair actually had one leg longer than the other (I measured several times to be sure) but fit better on the waist than the blue pair. The green pair were much tighter in the leg than the blue pair. Besides all that, the pants are made of good quality material. I kept the blue pair and sent back the green. I've worn the blue pair several times and they have kept me warm and dry in snow.

I would have rated this a 5 star if the product description was correct. I won't mind raising my rating to 5 stars if the seller updates the product description. This pants is NOT Waterproof. When I got the product, it says "Water Repellant" on the packaging. Nonetheless, this is a nice pair of pants, and the materials is soft and very comfortable. The fleece-lined material sure was a big saver during my trip to Iceland (10/28-11/01), especially during the night of our Northern Lights tour while watching the Northern Lights phenomenon. And the pants kept me dry from the heavy mist while walking behind the Waterfalls in Iceland. One thing I wish was a little smaller size. I got the smallest, 26 waists; a little too big, but I was able to work it out with a belt. I highly recommend this pants!
