Photo shows the dress right out of the package. I am 5' 4", 135 lbs, wearing a Medium in Light Khaki color. It is certainly a lot more fitted at my normal size than I expected, but I do love it greatly! The hem of the dress just barely touches the floor on my frame, giving it a sweeping motion while barefoot. I am sure sizing up would make the skirt much longer for my short height, but it would certainly up the drama of the length and puff sleeves. I do plan to order another one in a different color in Large to see how that would fit and which I would prefer before I attempt to purchase all the colors -- that's how much I greatly enjoy this dress! I wouldn't call the material 'sparkling.' More like a luster akin to a pearlescent/metallic look. While many of the preview photos show a sort of golden sheen to the material, that's due to product lighting. The sheen is actually white/silvery and goodness, does it SHINE at all different angles. The material is very lightweight and breathable; so much so that I tested it out by sleeping in it because I refused to take it off and it was comfy! The one little downside is that the seams inside the clothing are a tad bit itchy (which can become rather annoying over time, obviously), but isn't a problem when you're wearing it as a cover up over clothing. ... show more

I purchased this dress for my daughter and she looked amazing!!! The dress fit her very well and she was so happy to wear it. The purple color had a shimmering, metallic effect to it that changed with movement. She is normally a medium, but we got a large for it to fit loose. The string that goes around the waist made the look come all together. She's about 5'5 and the length was just right, no hemming needed. The designer really nailed it with this style!! ... show more

This garment worked well as a cover up and to perform prayers. I liked the elasticized cuffs which didn't ride up the arm when performing prayers and it was a plus to fashion the sleeves after prayer. The fabric is light and opaque which is a big plus to me. For one, the lighter fabric means you don't overheat and two, it doesn't restrict your movements. I sized up which maximized the sleeve drama. ... show more
