I'll be playing a 19th century pastry shop worker in July...in a covered setting outdoors in the Deep South. I truly feared that my head would be in an oven in a mop cap. The only one I had seen before was heavy cotton which I surmised was used to give the hat the structure and height needed. I decided to take a chance on this cap and I am so glad that I did. The satin fabric has enough body that the "brim" (for the lack of a better word) holds it form well. The top part does not have quite the height as the one all cotton version I had seen but it works well. Plus, if I decide I want it to stand up higher, I can add a little pillow stuffing or even a crumpled plastic bag. Neither approach would add weight or make the cap hotter. Overall, it looks good and feels like almost nothing is on my head. It's the perfect solution!

My 5th grade daughter is studying US History in school and had a dress up day where they learned re-enacted many of the historical scenes from the country's early history. The bonnet is of very good quality and while it was a touch too large for her, it still worked very well and completed her outfit. It looks pretty fancy compared to how much it costs, which was a huge plus. Would recommend for anyone looking for a DIY pioneer woman/prairie girl outfit or costume.

The description says the material is satin and lace, but then states the bonnet is 100% cotton. I don't like that discrepancy. It does feel full cotton to me, which it would have been way back in the frontier days. I'm working on outfits for my 3 granddaughters, that they can wear for everyday dressing up, and one outfit set is the Little-House-On-The-Prairie look. One dress did not intentionally be made for that purpose, but has the look anyway. It just doesn't have the apron and bonnet. I chose this bonnet. I'll probably get the apron as times goes on. The bonnet is beautifully sewn. It's the style-b, with all the cotton lacing around the hood. The bonnet looks exactly like the pictures. It may be too large for a 6 year old, but maybe the 6 year can swap bonnets with one of the other girls. Beautiful bonnet, super sewmanship, and it's very authentic looking even right down to the material. I highly recommend this purchase.

I was pleasantly surprised by this bonnet! Picked it out for a costume based on the handmaid's tale, and I think it'll be perfect. The quality seems better than a normal thin costume, there's a lot of structure in the brim of the bonnet, and it's a nice large size to fit my hair into the back to hide it. I think it'll work perfectly! It does somewhat deafen me as the brim comes over my ears a bit, but honestly that's kind of nice. I'm really happy with it!

Great bonnet. We are doing an old west church camp and this is perfect! Super cute and the fabric feels really well made. Breathable too! Which is important to us in the hot summer. Looks great on both small child or adult sized heads.

This hat is adorable, and just the thing for my renaissance fair costume! I like the lace; it really has a handmade sort of look. I got the one with the bonnet brim and lace edge with a ribbon, and was really pleased with the quality of the cotton fabric and the stitching. It's a good fit for a teen or adult.
