I knew the helmet lights up, but I had no idea exactly how customizable it is. You can fine tune the visor color with several color options, including multi color and cycling colors. The ear piece color changes independently of the visor color and the side mounted flash light rotates up and down. Some assembly is required, but the instructions were easy and I had the whole thing done in a couple minutes. You're definitely buying this for the helmet, but the included suit is very decent quality also and cute. I would add that the size 14 is a bit snug and short for the average 14 year old. Buy it - seriously! This costume is awesome. The helmet completely steals the show, it’s made of sturdy hard plastic, easy to assemble, and lights up with AA batteries. You can even change the light colors, and it looks incredible in person. My kid absolutely loves it! The best part, though, is the company’s customer service. I originally ordered an XL that ended up being too big, and when I reached out, they immediately sent a replacement in size L at no extra cost. Super responsive and accommodating. Amazing! My son was absolutely thrilled with this outfit, and I was very impressed with the overall quality of both the costume and the helmet. The different sounds that the helmet has is pretty cool and the color options are great! The sizing was spot on; my son is tall for an 8-year-old, so I sized up and it fit him perfectly. The outfit was easy for him to wear and move around in. I’m giving it 4 stars only because he mentioned the helmet sat a bit low on his shoulders, which caused some discomfort after wearing it for a while. I ordered this astronaut costume and helmet for my 9 year old grandaughter for Christmas. She was so happly when she unwrapped the gift on Christmas morning she started jumping up and down and around because she got her space helmet. When she opened the helmet box and found the costume, she was even happier. I have to rate this as a 5 star because the helmet appears to be top notch, the costume is well made, and everything fits properly. I will also not the Customer Service has been wonderful - another reason for the 5 star review. I wrote a previous review noting that I did not receive the astronaut costume that was supposed to ship with this order. I ordered this costume with helmet for my granddaughter for Christmas. I noted that I received the helmet only - did not receive the costume. I now offer my sincere apologies because the costume was actually in the bottom of the box with the helmet. Amazon sent a replacement and I again reported the costume as missing. Again, I was wrong. It also was in the bottom of the box. My granddaughter found it when she opened the helmet on Christmas Day.
