Fantastic helmet at a great price point.
Simply gorgeous looking. The best looking Stormtrooper helmet you will find at an affordable price. While likely not meeting the 501sts standards without some work, for anybody else it will be a magnificent piece to display or wear to torture the cat. The helmet is three pieces, at least out of the box. Unlike some other adult helmet replicas, in which the separate pieces are used to get a better fit and close around the head, (Hasbro Legends Iron Man and Starlird, Bandai's Red Power Ranger) for the Stormtrooper helmet, the three pieces are largely for manufacture and shipping. Once you clap them together you will not be taking them apart. It goes on over the head,just as seen in the movies. Fit and finish is superb. I can't speak to the minute accuracy of the sculpt, but to the inexpert eye it looks dead on. It's mainly unpainted white ABS plastic. Which is a good thing in this case. Stormtrooper gear is shiny white plastic. With some nice clean paint apps for detailing, such as the blue on the respirator vents and the grey temple and nose details. The lenses are dark green. I'm not sure if that is accurate to the on screen props, but they look right in the fles. Giving the shiny black look for the eyes with just enough color to make them seem real. The voice changer is pure garbage. It sounds awful, randomly works and just seems tacked on. The only reason I don't take a star off for it is it is completely and utterly pointless and unnecessary. Nobody is buying this thing just to hear themselves say "these aren't the droids w're looking for" and "move along" through a cheesy toy voice box. Just leave the batteries out. The fit on an adult male head is decent. The internal strapping is meh at best. It suffers for only being anchored to the front half of the helmet (due to the three piece design). Without a hear anchor on the head strap the helmet tends to tilt upwards slightly, limiting your downward vision. If you plan of routinely wearing this thing it would be worthwhile to invest in some cheap motorcycle of football helmet padding to put inside. While it has a few minor flaws, the shear value of this thing cannot be beat. It's the helmet you have craved since that glorious May Day in 1978. A look and design that has honestly never been equaled. And it is available at a below $100 retail price. You can't beat that. ... show more

Great quality, GREAT looking storm trooper helmet!!
I read the reviews, looked at other helmets, etc etc. When I first got it, came in 3 pieces all really good quality and no blemishes that i could find. I tried putting on the face piece first to feel the adjustable straps and discovered they were too tight on my head. Adjusted and viola fit perfectly (AND I do have a relatively large head. After a bit of adjusting and putting the 3 pieces together I found it fit great! Actually far more comfy than I expected considering even 4/5 star reviews! Now a few negatives. Seeing out of it at first can be awkward. I had to keep fighting the urge to pull the front down to look out of it. After a little while I got use to it though. ALOT of people complain the "voice changer" doesn't work. Well to those I have to ask...what do u expect a storm trooper to sound like? A man talking through a radio...which is exactly what it sounds like. YES you have to have the mic right next to your mouth however. AND being inside a helmet its easier to hear yourself then the radio sounding voice the mic produces, but then....most mic/voice changers DO sound like that TO the person speaking. Personally I was happy with the way it sounded.Could it sound better? Yes. Does it sound good? Yes. All in all GREAT Helmet. Either for collection or costume wearing..looks great and with a few mods feels fantastic (got myself a set of pads and modded mine and is awesome! Inexpensive for the quality of the helmet too! It is of very sturdy material, looks real to the movies
This helmet is an exceptional piece. It is of very sturdy material, looks real to the movies, and is of correct size despite seeming a bit big. The inside straps are a bit of a habit to adjust the helmet to get it to seat right, and I don't think you really will ever get it perfect. The microphone is also atrocious, but the static sound effect is fun to play with if you're ridiculous enough. Another cool feature of the helmet is the eyepiece lenses. When not wearing the helmet, you can easily see through the lenses into the helmet from the outside. However, when wearing it in most environments, the lenses dim and you cannot see inside at all. A nifty feature, as it adds to the faceless look Stormtroopers are famous for. Also note that your side-to-side peripherals will be a tiny bit minimized, but not much. Your up-and-down will be messed up horribly, though. A fun helmet overall to goof around in or put in on a shelf as a display piece. Do not expect to join a 501st Garrison with it, though. Not to mention that most will not be able to wear for extended periods. Overall very worth it for the price and fun factor. ... show more

Best helmet for the price hands down.
Giving this product a 5 because ... well because you aren't going to get much better for the price, no the helmet isn't perfect but coming from someone who has helmets that cost upwards of 600.00 this is a pretty good option. 1. the helmet comes in 3 pieces which makes for some wonky connections and i don't really understand why they did this, I assume different mfg's of parts but no idea. a solid mold is always better. 2. the voice changer is not a changer more an amplifier but does have authentic static burst so that is cool. 3. The face mask "front piece" is severely bulldogged for lack of a better term, I initially put the helmet together and excitedly put it on only to have it come crashing down on the bridge of my nose - the face is seriously flattened... to the extent the respirator portion almost takes a 90 degree turn downwards. **** they could easily fix all the above by making this a single mold and making the inner and outer pieces of the helmet out of the same type of plastic. again not really complaining because it is a good helmet for 60-70 dollars. here is what i did to modify mine. - Removed the plastic inside that was used to hide electronics and connections. - Removed the rubber headband size adjuster - replaced with padding - Removed and replaced voice mod with a different version and added additional speakers (preference) - Reshaped the 3 parts using a heat gun, you could also just use hot water but do not do this without watching a video and that still does not guarantee that you will not destroy the helmet if you don't know what you are doing. i still need to put the helmet back together and the will use epoxy to secure the joints on the inside, then i will reshape again and ultimately fill the cracks with Rondo, sand and repaint... all this is my preference and beware this obviously is not recommended by the mfg and I'm sure voids warranty and return. I will post before pictures so you can see what I'm talking about but will not post pics of the altered item. Thank you ... show more

Awesome helmet! Kids and adults go ballistic when you put this bucket on. For the amount of money, this thing gets the job done, and then some. Yeah, I know it isn’t 501st Legion approved (the 501st is a world wide charitable foundation uber nerd club of professional Star Wars cosplayers- I know this and can say this because I am a uber nerd Star Wars cosplayer), but this helmet is so darn close to perfect it’s ridiculous. The screen accurate helmets have some minute detailing differences (not embossed teardrops, temple markers, and blue piping, the bump on back that houses the not-so-hot voice changer, blah blah whoopdee doo). It still just rocks. Time for pros and cons: Pros- Price Durable Easy to assemble Easy to customize (actually a fun project in my book) Cons- Needs to be customized (again, easily) Voice changer is sub-par I’ve included images of my modifications: I removed the included head band and swapped it out for helmet padding (and I left the nose piece in, a lot of users take it out, but to me it assists when quickly turning your head), 2 micro computer fans powered by 9V batteries (really helps during hot summer parades and festivals) , the “frown” is actually, to be screen accurate (uber nerd coming through) a screen mesh and not opaque or solid (I razored out the embossed vent blocking the frown and just screwed it back in with a screen door fragment). For a better voice changer, I purchased a cheap battery powered belt on unit, and hook velcroed it’s surface, then placed the loop Velcro surface inside the helmet at mouth level, plenty of room to work with. Just order it and have fun. Your kids will love a fun dad (like I did), your wife will think you are nuts (but love your dedication, I think), and be the envy of your neighbors. ... show more

I love it. I have a larger head too
I love it. I have a larger head too, maybe as big as will fit in there (23.5" and more front to back than side to side). After reading the reviews, and watching some videos about the helmet, I ordered those helmet pads ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00A4TNQ8A/ref=od_aui_detailpages01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) and it works great. Just take out the strap suspension system (like a construction helmet) as you assemble it. For me I also had to pop out the nose rest piece inside. Padded up, and it moves with me like a helmet, my eyes get decent vision. This is the most detailed version of this helmet I have seen (the original movie prop helmets and therefore many replicas you can get have wrinkled stickers where the blue vent lines are, and the grey 'tears' below the eyes). The black parts and strips are almost all matte black rubber instead of paint. For Rogue One they updated the props, and this is based on those. From what I have read on 501st forums, it will not pass (partly because they require the sticker look) and the battery panel and speaker slots on the back would have to be filled in, and lenses are not dark enough. As many have said, voice changer is not what you should be excited about, but there are cheap after market alternatives for that. It's not an EFX, but a decent low-cost alternative.
First, of course... this is more of a toy than a replica or an amazing piece for cosplay (albeit a very good looking one). Just to get it out of the way - the voice changer is total garbage and I'd much rather have paid $20 less and not had it at all. THE GOOD: The exterior details are great. It's not an EFX helmet, but in some ways, the details on the outside are better. The vent slots are molded instead of being stickers, and other than the battery compartment and slots for the (sub-par) voice changer speaker on the back, the overall design is good and the components seem to be well manufactured and sturdy. NOT SO GOOD: It's hard to say what this was molded from. Compared to the EFX helmet (that was molded from one of the stunt performer storm trooper helmets in Episode 4) the shape is slightly different. Most noticeably in the nose area. A pretty minor quibble because you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference unless you put this side by side with an EFX helmet and started analyzing it. The interior is very small. If you've got a large head, or wear glasses (like me) you won't be able wear this without gutting the interior to make some space (which I had to). The suspension/headband is pretty crap and had to be removed immediately. Replaced it with motorcycle helmet foam so it can actually sit comfortably on my noggin. The nosepiece is a tough rubber plastic and cuts into my nose so I had to remove that as well. Lastly, the fact that it's a toy is further underscored by the fact that it was clearly designed in such a way that it is not intended to be disassembled once you put it together. It's not impossible, but really difficult to do without damaging the helmet (and your fingers) so if you do plan to do any modifications, be certain to do as much as possible before fully assembling it. Overall this is a totally decent TK helmet, and a passable low-cost alternative to an EFX so long as you're willing to do the work to get it fitting correctly and deal with the fact that it's definitely heavier. ... show more
