I thought the photo in the item description for this Vaziro cropped cardigan looked very attractive, and decided to take a chance on it. Unfortunately, in person the sweater (mine, anyway) doesn’t look quite enough like the photo to be satisfying. In the photo, the sweater looks lighter, and has a slim, feminine shape; the top and bottom ribbings lie absolutely flat, and the vertical front button edges are very straight. On my sweater, the ribbing – especially the bottom ribbing – makes the sweater fabric pucker and pull in at the (high) waist; and the unreinforced button/buttonhole edge wiggle as they are used and stretched. It may be that steaming the sweater before each use would achieve the look in the photo, but I’m not going to do that. In terms of the fabric, aside from an insignificant 7% (merino), it’s really just synthetics of various kinds (what is “acrylic imitation cashmere?”). There are some nice things about this sweater: 1) the colors are beautiful. I ordered the dark blue, and it’s muted and rich and creamy; 2) the sizing seems accurate, and the proportions are good (arms long enough and wide enough, etc.); 3) the cropped cut works well as a layering piece; 4) it seems comfortable enough; and 5) it’s a classic style. Overall, it’s not a bad sweater, but a bit lower price point might better reflect the inexpensive fabric and construction.

This is a great sweater, especially for the price. The fit is pretty true to size, perhaps a little on the larger side, but looks polished and high quality. It’s warm and comfortable, and can be used as a layering piece, since there’s plenty of room to accommodate a shirt.

My first thought when I got this sweater is that the fit is a lot boxier than I’d expected. It looks fairly slim in the model photos, but the fit in person is a fair bit wider and in retrospect I’d have sized down. The quality is fine—it’s soft, but clearly synthetic. However, I have found it to be useful so far as an extra layer under a jacket, to help get through seasonal transitions where a big coat might be too much, but a light jacket might not yet cut it. So as a sweater layer on its own, I’m not sure how much I’ll wear it, but on a 45-degree day when I’m not sure whether I’ll end up too cold or too hot once I get outside, it provides useful flexibility for jackets.

Really disappointed with the quality of this cardigan. Very misleading to market this as part merino wool, as the percentage is really small, like laughable. The cardigan looks and feels like acrylic and it smells like chemicals (or acrylic nails). Seems really toxic and doubt it will hold up well in the wash. I also found a hole in the fabric, though it doesn't look to be used prior. This cardigan is the epitome of fast fashion and of all the amazon fashion fails I've had over the years, this is pretty high up there. I would stay away, and especially at $30, it's definitely not worth that.

I’m giving this cardigan 5 stars because the quality is genuinely excellent. The knit feels well made and substantial without being heavy. It’s a medium thickness and well made. I didn’t notice a single loose thread, and all of the buttons are sewn on securely and evenly. The fit was true to size for me. It is cropped, as indicated. The material was comfortable and, while it’s not super soft or fuzzy, it’s definitely easy to wear. The color is beautiful. The red is a vivid and rich berry color without looking cheap or overly bright. It really stands out in a good way. I also appreciate the detailing on the collar and the ribbed cuffs and hem. Those little touches give it a polished finish while still keeping it casual. Style-wise, this is a cute, everyday cardigan that would look great with jeans or casual trousers. I can easily picture it layered over a tank or fitted tee for an effortless look. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t flatter me personally because I have a longer torso, and the cropped length hits at an awkward spot on my frame. That’s on me, not the sweater. On someone with a shorter or average torso, I think it would look fantastic. Even though it’s not the right cut for my proportions, I can confidently say the quality, color, and construction are all top notch. If you like a slightly cropped, casual cardigan in a gorgeous red, this one is a great pick.
