Okay so this coffee table is my absolute favorite piece of furniture in my new apartment. It's also a perfect dupe for the more expensive $200 table from wayfair and I highly recommend this one over Wayfair's. So now for assembly. A few other reviews mentioned that the lift top part of the table was not very sturdy and I figured out why some people have that issue. During assembly there is a part in the instructions where you have to disassemble the hydraulic lifting mechanism and then rescrew on the nut after the piece is attached to the table. When you are doing this part, you need to make sure that you tighten BOTH NUTS. You are only actually directed to unscrew one side of the hydraulic mechanism, but the other nut on the side that you are not instructed to mess with is not completely tightened when it comes from the manufacturer. I included a picture so you can see exactly which part you need to tighten. This is where people run into problems with the sturdiness and wobbliness of the lift top part. So pay close attention to all parts of the assembly. It took me about an hour and a half to assemble by myself. The top wood grain piece is also cut from one singular piece of wood, so you have to make sure the grain lines up the right way to ensure perfect fit. SO again, make sure that you tighten BOTH nuts on BOTH sides of the hydraulic mechanism and you will have an absolutely gorgeous and incredibly sturdy coffee table. BUY IT!!!

I'm no stranger to self-assembly. The piece is technically easy to assemble, but any misalignment or screw going in at the wrong angle could lead to gaps/tightness between the lift top and the fixed portion of the table. Mine ended up being just barely overlapped with the fixed portion, so I had to nudge it aside to make sure it set flush when not in use. I also do have to say that the legs are barely attached to the bottom panel due to the design and thinness of this panel. There are metal anchors the legs bolt into and dowels to reinforce, but they are very shallow and easily crack the bottom panel, so please be careful when moving the table. Overall, however, the finish and look of this table is brilliant and I would recommend it with those few considerations. Probably not the best table for super heavy usage, but I had no issue with daily, light use in my single person, no child home.

I saw a lot of people saying that the table was super hard to assemble. The directions don’t have words and there are a ton of little pieces so you do have to pay attention to what you’re doing. That being said though, as someone who has zero experience with handiwork, the assembly ends up being fairly intuitive. I put one board on backwards halfway through and was able to realize my mistake easily— plus things are cut super specifically so if something isn’t fitting it’s probably on wrong. More than anything it’s just tedious. It took about two episodes of a Netflix show to put together. My only issue is the pieces aren’t totally flush on the sides but the tabletop that moves fits perfectly. Also it’s a little bit darker than in the picture, but I actually preferred it to the color listed. Overall for the price it’s definitely worth it. Out of all of the coffee tables with the moving top, this was the coolest looking and the most reasonably priced.

I just got a new coffee table with a little hide away stash cubicle and I'm impressed my only suggestion is to use coasters and to check it when you receive it to make sure it wasn't shipped by Edward Scissorhand

I think this is my first 1 star review. The table is a real beast to put together, and it doesn't stay together. :( Nothing is flush; there are gaps everywhere because the instructions tell you to insert certain pieces "just enough, but not too much". WTF? make the hole a certain depth, go to the end of hole. Done! But noooooo. Anyway, when I flipped it over after the install, **one of the legs came off**! Like, literally as I was flipping it over for the first time. This piece doesn't even feel like furniture, but I sure do feel cheated. :(

This table didn't have any reviews when I bought it so it felt like I was taking a chance, but I'm pretty happy with this buy. It's great for working on the couch, eating in front of the TV, and doing puzzles (with a board on top for bigger puzzles) It was fairly simple to put together. The only thing I've noticed is that one of the sides has started to crack just a little where the screw is for the top of the table. It was a pre-drilled hole so I'm not sure why this is happening. This is really the only reason I don't give it 5 stars. I just hope it doesn't get worse. Even so, for the price, it's been a good buy!

Love this table! It took less than two hours to put together the table. I did need to drill holes when attaching the bottom to the box as the holes did not line up, but with a hand drill, it was easy. Lots if reviews about the legs breaking off and I believe the manufacturer listened and changed the design since you can see they added plates where the legs get attached. A much more sturdier design. My only suggestion would be to not have the gripper pads on the legs already. Since I have this on carpet and do need to move it for vacuuming, I usually use sliders. As I said, I love this table! Perfect height to rest your feet. I have popped the top just to make it easier to get my coffee while relaxing and it matches my desk perfectly!
