I always wanted tv backlighting for my TV that connects directly to the TV to display colors without needing a camera like some other companies backlights do without also breaking the bank. This immersive backlight from Wiz was exactly what I was looking for and it comes at a reasonable price albeit with some quirks. Unboxing and setting up the backlight system wasn't too difficult since the only time consuming part was sticking it to the back of the TV and then just plugging in the source box to my PC thru HDMI. Once everything was connected then all that was required was to download the Wiz app on my phone to connect and control the lighting. Initially when I went into the app to control the scenes of the lighting it worked great and started matching the colors on the screen flawlessly and looked amazing but I made the mistake of changing the scenes to see what others there were because then it would not change to matching the what was playing on the TV which became frustrating. I know I have to tinker around with it more to get it back to the way I wanted but once it does then this backlight system will be great. Another small issue with it which applies to my situation is that lights themselves are really long and dont exactly fit on my 55'' TV which is a bit of a bummer but means I just have to get a bigger TV. ... show more

I didn’t expect to like a TV backlight this much, but the WiZ HDMI Sync Box totally changed how we watch movies, shows, and even YouTube videos as a family. The lights react instantly to whatever is happening on screen, and it honestly makes everything feel more immersive and exciting—especially during action scenes or animated movies. It’s like the entire room becomes part of the story. Setting it up was pretty simple. I’m fairly tech-savvy, and the instructions in the app were easy to follow. I connected it to our Apple TV and Nintendo Switch, and it worked right away. The light strip fit perfectly behind our TV, and the glow it gives off really changes the vibe of the room. We’ve played around with the sync effects and love the “Dynamic” mode the most—it keeps things lively without being overwhelming. My kids are obsessed. They ask for it every time friends come over, and it’s become part of our routine for movie night and gaming. We haven’t connected it to Alexa or Google yet, but the app gives us all the control we need. It adds such a fun, cozy, and modern feel to our space. ... show more

The WiZ HDMI Sync Box with TV Backlight does a surprisingly good job of creating an immersive environment for watching movies or playing video games. Installation of the LED strip was simple (the light strip itself has 3M adhesive on one side) and there are additional 3M caps to ensure strong, long-lasting application. The TV we installed on is actually 50 inch, not 55-65, but we were able to "fold" the corners slightly and as you can see in the photo/video, the colors still pop on the wall behind the TV matching the video on display. A few comments: If you have other "WiZ" devices, you may need to upgrade to the WiZ V2 app. I'm not sure why the features couldn't be built into the existing app... but after a few tries I was able to "transfer" the old device/settings into the new app. The HDMI Sync Box is required to enable "synchronized" colors with the video display which is a little bit disappointing as most TVs today already have native apps, so if you want to take FULL advantage of this feature you need to make sure you're using an external device. In our case, we're using an Xbox Series X. The colors are bright and transitions seamless. Out of the box the default is "Cinematic" sync, which seems to be more gentle transitions. Other settings include: Vibrant (much "jumpier"), Resolution and Rhythmic. Our preference is for Cinematic. All in all... when it works, it works great. But I have noticed occasional "glitching" from the input video, but it doesn't seem to be problematic with EVERY video. My son plays a lot of Fortnite and for some reason that game in particular tends to have more issues (video turning on and off quickly) but the example video for Crossy Road seemed to work just fine. It may just be a bad HDMI cable included so I'll try and replace that to see if there is any improvement. Overall... this is a fun product and I would recommend. ... show more

The WiZ tv sync box with light strips are pretty good at their price range. Compared to other brands they have less lights per inch which is slightly disappointing but they still do a great job of syncing with the TV. The biggest issue I found is that the sync with the TV really only syncs to the outside 3-6 inches of the screen. I get it that these are supposed to display on the wall and widen out the screen but it felt off to me. I've used other brands that I think do a slightly better job of syncing with the screen. The other thing I did not like about these is that they did not have a light strip at the bottom of the screen. Other brands have that additional strip at the bottom of the screen. So if you wall mount your TV there will be no light at the bottom which is disappointing and would look terrible. I have them mounted on a 55 inch tv and they are slightly too big for the TV. The wires hang over the edge a bit and there is no way to shorten them with how they are made. Overall for the price of these lights they are very well made. The sync works great and is very accurate with the overall display. The price for these is amazing. For everything they can do and the price you pay they are well worth it.
