Best Features: 1. Squirrel cage fans on both the cool air and hot air - this ensures the cool air is effectively and efficiently blown out of the unit, and the heat is blown out the exhaust tunnel. 2. Smart fan - continues to run to blow out cool air even after the compressor shuts off. Wow! Very cool. (pun intended) 3. Display - is easy to use and very touch sensitive. There's no english writing on the panel, so reference the owners manual if you're not sure what a symbol is. Weird and not great features: 1. WiFi - Could NOT get the WiFi to work following the instructions in the owners manual. The Smart Life app never saw this unit and would not connect. Very Frustrating!! The "Tuya Smart" app did connect to this unit on the first try and seems to work great. The app logo is a lowercase "t" on an orange background. This is a pretty common app for anyone into home automation. You can pull this unit into Home Assistant, Alexa, etc. using the Tuya integration to create automations with this unit. Very Cool, but weird the instructions were wrong or didn't work! 2. The exhaust port doesn't have any kind of vent cover. When the unit shuts off, any insects or other critters have a way to get into your exhaust hose, and maybe your house. Have seen a couple very small gnats that were able to squeeze thru the system somewhere. Will need to tape all connections to keep critters out, as well as install some kind of custom screen and or vent cover. Measurement: The output temp of this unit (air blowing out) is ~38 degrees F. Input is about 77, so > ~39 degree drop in temp, which is pretty amazing and feels great! Overall: It works great and meets the need of keeping my office cool. (Way better than our Heat Pump!) ... show more

Update - July 1, 2023 My Father used self tapping screws to anchor the exhaust hose on both ends and it has made a big difference. Now that it is in place the unit is working much better. The first time I left it running all day at 70 I came home from work and the house felt like a walk in freezer, which is how I like it. As long as the exhaust hose is in place it isn't a bad machine. As for the continuous drainage while heating, I will have to wait until winter to find out if this problem has resolved. (I do have it set up with a bucket but the first time I tried the heating function when it was cooler it didn't work and I had to drain it from the bottom. I still don't like the placing of the drain.) However, I am happier now that it is working but very unhappy it took a bit of creative thinking on the part of my Father to fix it. This product had very good reviews and I have had another portable A/C that gave me no trouble, but this one is nothing but a huge aggravation. The exhaust hose comes loose at the merest movement and, as the photos show, I have tried using heat resistant tape to keep it anchored. I haven't used it very much and it's already overheating on the A/C mode so all I can use it for is a fan. The heating mode isn't any better. It dehumidifies as it heats and the tank fills up very quickly. The drain is at the very bottom of the unit so unless you have it elevated you have no choice but to have towels and a mop nearby to clean up the water. I had very high expectations and am severely disappointed. I can't even return it because it's past time. Big waste. ... show more

    • Customer Service As Friendly As The Air Conditioner Chills The Spine

Of all the indoor portable air-conditioning units I have owned, this is by far the best. It kicks out spine chilling cold air very quickly cooling my 450 square-foot studio under an hour, even if it is well into the 90s! While the unit is not whisper silent, it is the quietest of all the indoor portable air conditioning units I’ve had. The self evaporating feature on this air conditioner is a much needed feature that too many portable indoor air conditioning units lack. I also have to comment on how the company does stand by its products whole heartedly. I purchased this unit June 2023 and just this past week it started acting up with a constant buildup of ice in the back. Multiple times after defrosting the unit, the ice keeps coming back, making this all but in operable. I reached out to the company’s customer service directly, since I am well beyond the return date on Amazon. After two very brief exchanges, they offered to send me a brand new unit without asking me to return the current one. Why Amazon doesn’t have a similar return option for electric appliances like a portable indoor air conditioner unit for 12 months (the standard warranty for these types of devices) is beyond me, but fortunately Wiytamo stands behind their products 100% honoring their warranties. The only negative thing I have to say about this portable air conditioner unit is that the heating did not work very well at all. I don’t know if it is this unit like others have mentioned in their reviews or if the heating element just doesn’t work at all, but when the temperature dropped below 30° in Portland, Oregon earlier this year, very little heat came out of the unit. That aside, this is by far the best investment you’ll make in keeping yourself cool during these Sahara like heat scorching waves we find ourselves under! ... show more

The first unit worked on cold for about 12 hours but then the compressor quit. I tried the heat and that worked. I requested a refund but Devin at their tech support contacted me and sent a new unit and it works good in all modes. Since it’s a heat pump compressor, it should save money. It’s rated at 14,000 btu cool but cools like a 10,000 to 12,000 btu window unit. I have ran it for about 3 days now and works good. The compressor is quieter than the first unit. The swing door is nice because I can direct the air where I need it. When it reaches the desired temp, it goes to sleep until it gets warmer. I gave it a four star because at 14,000 btu, it should have cooled my insulated man cave which is 32’ by 20’ by itself. I have to use a 8,000 btu window unit to help it cool the room to 79 degrees when it’s 95 degrees outside. ... show more
