  • Excellent seat
Style: City
This is the 2nd Wittkop seat I've purchased. I have the touring model on my 26 RedlinePL. This last one I just purchased is the city model & I put that on my Giant beach cruiser. Not bulky like other beach cruiser seats & lighter. Has more of a sporty look. Minimal clean. Super comfortable for them long rides. Great seat. More support and comfort for the back & bum. I highly recommend. Strong & well made. Easy to clean too. Excellent price too! ... show more

  • Great saddle for heavy people!
Style: Touring
I am a road cyclist. I ride 50-70 miles at a time, but I am top-heavy and I weigh 280. Yep. 280. I have tried so many saddles I have lost count. They all hurt my sit bones after only a few miles, largely due to my weight and the narrow saddle designs. On a whim, I tried Wittkop, MEDIUM saddle. in two rides, I have ridden 135 miles, and while being in a saddle for 5-6 hours is always going to be challenging, this saddle allowed me to complete a 75 mile ride without being sore. It is the only one I have ever tried that did. Note: This is NOT one of those super-wide saddles that looks weird on a road bike. Yes, they offer one of those for upright riders, but even the Medium one is relatively narrow, yet wide enough to support heavier folks, like me. It feels and looks great! So, if you happen to be heavy, want to ride comfortably, and are having trouble finding a saddle that doesn't hurt, you need to try one of these Wittkop saddles! I bought the Touring one AND the Urban/Medium one so I could try both. The Touring (narrow) one is narrower, and while good, was not wide enough to properly displace weight on my sit bones. The Medium one was like sitting on a firm sofa. The foam material is just the right amount of support/firmness, without lateral sway. Regardless, I am very confident that if you are built like me, you will love one of these saddles. It is absolutely worth a try, and the cost is exceptionally good, especially compared to what i have already spent on saddles that I could neither use or return! Good luck! ... show more

  • More cushion for the tushion
Style: City
Oh, the Wittkop Bike Seat. It’s not just a bicycle seat; it’s a plush throne that turns every bike ride into a royal affair. If you’ve ever found yourself grimacing through a ride, wondering if your seat was made from concrete, let me introduce you to the remedy for your rear-end woes. Comfort Level: Imagine if marshmallows and memory foam had a baby and then put it on a bike. That’s the Wittkop Bike Seat. The moment you sit down, you might think you’ve accidentally ended up on a cloud. It’s so comfortable, I found myself making excuses to ride around the block just to experience the cushy goodness. You might even catch yourself humming a “ride on” tune as you glide effortlessly, feeling like a biking royalty. Design & Style: The Wittkop doesn’t just deliver on comfort; it’s also got style. With its sleek, ergonomic design, it looks like something straight out of a futuristic sci-fi film. You’ll be the envy of all your biking buddies, who’ll undoubtedly ask if you’ve upgraded to a luxury bike. The subtle design makes it suitable for both men and women, so you can ride in style without worrying about being on-trend. Installation: Installing this seat is as easy as pie—if pie were a matter of a few bolts and a wrench. The Wittkop comes with straightforward instructions and a tool for adjustment, so you won’t need a degree in engineering to get it mounted. Just be prepared to explain to your friends why you suddenly seem so much happier on your bike (it’s the seat, I swear!). Performance: On the road, the Wittkop truly shines. Long rides become a lot less painful and a lot more enjoyable. You might even find yourself taking the scenic route just to savor the comfort. If you’re not careful, you might start planning bike trips for the sheer joy of sitting on this seat. Recently road my mountain bike for 20 miles. ... show more

  • Thousands of miles later, I'm going to buy a second one for another bike
Style: Touring
I started cycling last year and didn't believe they hype train for the direction many people take the hobby. I avoided shoes that snapped into the pedals, I didn't buy the fastest possible bike, and my seat wasn't going to be a 3in piece of hard plastic that had a non-zero chance of being inserted into an uncomfortable position. I've learned that my bike frame does make a difference, the pedals don't to any significant degree, and my seat has viable comfortable options available. Last year I challenged myself to ride a century ride (100mi) every month. In July I rode back to back 125mi rides over two days (total of 250mi) on this seat. For a man with a slightly wider hip set (I'm 5'11 200lbs) the touring seat is a dream. It's formed so if you're seated right your butt bones will connect in the right spot, but it also provides additional cushion. I've put about 3000mi on the seat so far, and while it looks used now, there are not splits and signs of significant wear. Many people warned me that cushioned seats will hurt you over time, but anecdotally I have proven that incorrect. If I rode 250mi over two days and this seat didn't cause sore/welts etc, then I'm inclined to believe it will work for just about any amateur or hobby rider. You're still going to need to get used to it. Cycling will always hurt your butt after hours of saddle time, by the end of the season last year though, my butt felt just fine after each new century. Buy this one. It's the best bet for a sore butt. Also, don't forget to use an anti chafe/perspiration cream or bar. The seat makes you comfortable, it doesn't do magic. Quick Update: I bought a carbon fiber road bike from Canyon and wanted to try the road variant of this seat on it. While the seat is cushy and the same quality, my hips just don't want to connect with the smaller seat as well. I've doubled down and bought a second "Touring" edition so I don't have to move my original touring wikkitop seat back and forth from my hybrid and road bikes. Anyone that is a smaller frame or narrower hips, the road variant may be your go to, but for me I'm just going to continue using the touring seat. UPDATE: I've completed about a dozen century rides and one ride of 170 mi. I've also bought a second of these seats for my commuter bike. For my butt this seat does the trick. With bicycle shorts I get no saddle sores and very little sore butt. Keep in mind that any seat is going to hurt when you first start, you have to condition your body for bicycling Update 2: I've now ridden STP (Seattle to Portland) and can say this seat held up to a 200+ mile ride. I have noticed some breakdown in the cushion of my original seat. This is after about 5-7 thousand miles. I think that's reasonable durability. Eventually I'll replace that seat, but I'm still using it now. This seat remains 5stars all day. ... show more
