For the price, I'm comfortable to "more or less" recommend these - but if you find a similar product by another brand for even slightly cheaper, I'd try that first (at least until Wise Owl's manufacturing/quality control takes a turn for the better). I ordered several of these for a recent camping trip, and we put them through their paces. They basically work they way they should, though I would be very surprised if they survive more than a few trips in total. With microfiber cloth you can really only have at most 2 of the 3 qualities that you need in a camp towel (light weight, durable, absorbent), and the cloth density in these manages to strike a pretty decent compromise—with durability clearly being the lowest priority—that proved comfortable enough to both use and carry. I still came very close to returning them all due to the generally-suspect stitching, but because I take such good care of my gear I figure maybe I can still more or less get my money's worth out of them before they fall apart. (When they do, I'll update this review). My complaints are: - Inconsistent size. None of the towels are the same size (up to a 0.5" variance between individual towels), all of them were at least slightly under their advertised size of 30" x 60", and one of the towels was a full 1 inch smaller in both dimensions. (That may not seem like a lot - but it's a 5% difference in total material quantity, which is far from negligible). If there's going to be a margin of error, it should always be OVER the advertised size - *never* under. - Poor stitching. The stitching on all of the towels ranges from "okay" to "I can clearly see where they screwed this up and tried to fix it... several times." Some seams that failed to line up where they were supposed to are simply glued together with fabric adhesive (which at least seems waterproof). Others are folded over each other awkwardly and over-stitched to the point of stiffness to prevent them from coming apart. - Not lint-free. At least some of the fibers on all of these towels had detached and matted into small clumps after the first or second use, forming what was basically like super-fine laundry lint (which was initially what I thought it might be, until I thoroughly washed them again by hand and then took a closer look). It comes off easily enough with a comb or lint rake, but this means that the towels are essentially slowly disintegrating. After a few more uses, I wouldn't be surprised to find visible wear spots beginning to form shallow holes (that's if the stitching doesn't fall apart first). In short, quality control on Wise Owl products seems to be going downhill of late; unfortunately, this is not the first batch of their products about which I've had similar thoughts in recent months. Hopefully they will eventually resolve whatever manufacturing trouble is causing these issues. If anyone from Wise Owl sees this review - look into the manufacturer and/or manufacturing process for Otis gun cleaning microfiber cloths; they are thinner, lighter, more absorbent, and FAR more durable than these towels of yours. If you folks can get these up to THAT standard, it would be a game-changer. ... show more

I keep some camping things in my car all the time so that we are able to sporadically stay at the river, swim, walk, etc. I tried keeping a couple towels in there for a while but I eventually took them out as they were just too bulky and inconvenient, but it was annoying not to have the convenience so I decided to look for something that would work just as well and be more compact. This towel is perfect for that, and I got a couple hand towels the same for my kids. We’ve only had them about a week but have already used them at least 20 times for any number of things; drying off after swimming, sweat rag, wet it down to cool off, a clean surface, on the car seats to keep them clean, keep the inside of our kayaks dry, a light blanket … Absorbs better than regular towels, packs way easier, and a lot more versatile! ... show more

I didn't get the color I ordered but whatever, I guess I like the color I ended up getting. I was super skeptical because this is not classic terry towel material, but Wise Owl makes good products and I wanted something that would fit nicely in a dry bag on my kayak without having to stuff a giant towel inside. Turns out I'm the fool for doubting, because the material is insanely absorbent. I used the large towel to dry myself and the small towel to dry off my kayak and I was shocked at how well the towels did at each of those tasks. But what really blew me away was how quickly the towels dried when I laid them out in the sun. I am barely exaggerating when I say I sat down a drenched towel, blinked, and saw dry towels. I'm talking, "Who replaced my wet towels with identical dry towels?" levels of speed. In the time it took my brain to think "Boy I hope these towels don't take long to dry, I don't want to deal with wet towels all day." the towels were dry. It was a hot day, it was direct sun, there was a decent breeze, conditions, admittedly, were ideal. But consider me still duly impressed. ... show more

I bought this towel for the times that I travel and I love it. It’s extremely absorbent, drys quickly and is easy to pack down. I hate using towels at hotels and airbnbs because they never feel clean or soft, but this towel has been a good resolution. Highly recommended!

I bought this for a week-long camping trip in the woods. This was my first experience with microfiber towels. The large one was a perfect bath towel, and the washcloth was a very handy multipurpose towel (used in the shower, it was wonderfully soft!). I love this towel. I had one before I got married and then my husband loved it so much he stole mine so we had to buy a second one. They are super light weight and so easy to pack. Sometimes it doesn’t absorb the best but overall it’s a great little towel and we’ll probably buy more in the future.
