This seems like a must have for smoking meat. It is wonderful for keeping tract of 2 parts of a bigger piece of meat (ie brisket). It’s temperature readings seems very accurate. It functions as it says it does. I appreciate the multiple readings. It’s a great value and especially if you get it on sale. I did have some connection issues when I wrapped the meat and put it in foil, that being said, that when I opened my smoker or moved the reader closer to the smoker it would display the temps again. All together I would recommend this wireless thermometer to anyone smoking meat, or baking meats.

If your in the market for wireless cooking probes this is a great product. I have used the meater products. I always found them lacking in range and durability. I have only one cook on these probes. So far I am very happy with these probes. The temperature is spot on. The range is great, and these are dishwasher rated. I have lost a meater probe when my daughter washed it in the dishwasher not knowing they cannot be cleaned in a dishwasher. Plus these probes are a great value with two probes for less than the meter probe and the long range base. This product feels like a better offering since it has a base station and charger that displays the temperatures and is not some cheap wood block. I cannot speak to the durability yet as I only have one cook but just the feel and build is already better than the meater.

Some may ask how can an item that broke the first time used can be given five stars. I'll tell you. Any manufactured item can have an occasional bad one. You can tell the item isn't junk and was packaged nicely. When I cleaned the temperature probe it snapped at the place where it was attached to the grip. I sent a message to customer service. It was late in the day and I figured I'd hear back the next day, but to my surprise the response was quick. The communication seemed to show that the person was truly disappointed in what happened and didn't want me to be unhappy. They arranged for a replacement part and said they were sending me a gift to make up for the issue. From the previous reviews I can tell that this isn't the norm for their items to break and they owned the responsibility and stood behind their product. The thermometer performed perfectly and the app that was used with it was great. I consider this Five Star even though I had a little bad luck. I have no issues recommending their product to others. Cheers Update!! I was sent a replacement for the part that was broken. I haven't had any issues since then and the Dual Temperature probes work perfectly. I was happy with doing a turkey for thanksgiving and being able to temp the breast and thigh since they cook at way different speeds and have different doneness temps. Once you enter what you want in the unit it keeps track of everything for you and even has a graph that makes it easy to see what's going on. The other feature that is really great is that ThermoMaven's temperature probes have multiple sensors in them. Most probes if you don't hit the thickest spot with the one sensor then your temp will be off. With their probes you can look for the lowest temperature sensing spot and know that it's at the sweet spot. It's kind of genius having sensors up the legnth of the probe. I didn't even realize it when I bought it, but after using it I'm so glad I got this unit. Finally I've had the opportunity to interact with customer service and they are fabulous. They treat customers with kindness, appreciation and urgency. I've never had to wait even a full day for a response. Don't hesitate, buy their products. You'll be glad you did.

I've used this temp probe on a few cooks and it has worked flawless. The first I used both probes in one Boston Butt one on manual and the other with the smart cook. Just to see how the smart cook compared to how I have been doing it. The smart cook would have had me pull it sooner than I normally did, but I did over shoot the temp I was looking for. The next cook was some steaks and I used the smart cook and the steaks came out perfect medium rare (what I had set). You can use the system with just the base and probes, but seems harder than using the app on the phone too. With the app you get the whole cook graphed out, actual temp to desired temp gauges, probe battery level indicator. The probes have 6 temp sensors each 1 ambient our grill temp (sort of) and 5 internal sensors. All sensors in the probe are graphed out during the cook on the app. The ambient sensor, I was expecting to give me true grill temp (I checked with a probe on my Pitt Boss) but it is to close to the meat so as the meat warms up it will increase too. I don't have a clue what the more expensive system can have that would make it worth more than this system. The only thing I would change if I could is when charging the base and probes a indicator comes on telling you the charger is plugged in, but nothing indicates when it is full charge. I thought maybe the indicator would go out when fully charged but I left it plugged in for 24hrs and it never went off. Connecting to my wifi was very easy.

This thermometer has made grilling so much easier. We’ve used it on both griddle and grill, and the readings have been spot-on every time. The Bluetooth and WiFi range is solid. We can walk away from the grill and still keep an eye on the temps from our phones. The base is easy to read, the probes feel durable, and setup was quick. Definitely a game-changer if you’re tired of guessing doneness or hovering over the grill.
